Paper Players #93

Posted on

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend, I did. I got to see some friends in Manhattan and spent some time with my favorite daughter, wait she’s my only daughter, but she is still my favorite! ūüôā Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks hostess is Leslie and she has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge. Pick three in a row to make your card…

I chose to go diagonal with Flowers, Pick Your Own (watercoloring) and Designer Paper (I made my own). The base of the card is Soft Suede. For my designer paper I took a piece of Very Vanilla and inked up the Parlor Prints Background Stamp in Rich Razzleberry. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade and then embossed it using the Vintage Wallpaper¬†Textured Impressions¬†Embossing Folder. The images and the greeting are from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. The cup is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the pansy is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I CASE’d the image from Stampin’ Success. I used an Aqua Painter with Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade Ink to paint in the flowers and leaves. I stamped the image a second time, watercolored it, cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it on a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the image and mounted it to the Lucky Limeade label with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies too and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I added a Basic Jewels Pearl to the center of the flower just for Ann! I hope that you enjoy the card and thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Poppy Totally Tess 3D

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone. I’m off to Manhattan again today for a little bit in the morning and then hopefully spending some quality time with my stamps after that! My card from last weeks Paper Players Challenge was Ann’s Pick of the Week. You can see the card on the Paper Players site HERE. Thanks to all of the talented ladies over there!

Today’s project I made for a wonderful friend of mine Sandy. She is super talented and just the nicest person you could ever want to meet. You can check out her blog at www.stampwithsandy.com. I have made a few of these cards and I love them. I used the Totally Tess Stamp Set (Retired List) because I think that Sandy looks a little like Tess! I started with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 12″ x 5 1/2″. It is scored at 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 4″, 7″, 8″ and 11″. The two windows are cut out of the larger outside pieces. The inside “wallpaper” is from the no longer available Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration 2012. I stamped Tess and all of her accessories in Basic Black Ink and cut them out with my Paper Snips. The I Love Stamps on the bag is stamped in Poppy Parade and adhered to Tess with a Mini Glue Dot. The wood stamp and the card are stamped in Crumb Cake and the heart on the stamp is colored in with Cajun Craze. Tess is colored in with Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede Stampin Write Markers. The markers around the border of the front of the card are colored in with the 2011-2013 In-Color Markers and Not Quite Navy. Finally the greeting on the card is stamped in Poppy Parade and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. The two Poppy Parade paper dots are punched out with the Owl Builder Punch. Sandy loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day! ūüôā

Crumb Artichoke Furry Folk 2 x 2 Set

Posted on

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s supposed to be sunny and a little chilly today. I’ll be in Manhattan this morning and then off to look after my friends dogs later on. I’m going to try and squeeze in some Stampin’ too! Today’s project features three items from the retired list, all of which I will be sad to see go. The Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL Die, Circle Scissor Plus and especially the Furry Folk Stamp Set seeing as I just got it! The box and card bases are Crumb Cake Card Stock. The cards are cut to 2″ x 4″ and then scored in half and folded. The box is cut out with the Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL Die (Retired List). The images on the top of the box and the background for all the teeny cards is stamped with the Woodgrain Background Wood Mount Stamp in Crumb Cake. The images on the top of the box are from the Furry Folk Stamp Set (Retired List) and are stamped in Soft Suede and Always Artichoke. I mounted them with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a piece of Always Artichoke that I ran through my Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images on all of the cards, also from Furry Folk(Retired List) are stamped in Soft Suede too. Some of them are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and mounted on Always Artichoke punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The two larger images are punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and mounted to Always Artichoke that was cut to 1 5/8″ using the Circle Scissor Plus (Retired List). The greetings are form the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and are stamped in Always Artichoke and punched out using the Word Window Punch. I put them back in the punch to size them to length that I needed. For a finishing touch on all of the pieces I stamped the butterfly image in Bravo Burgundy and punched them out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. I love these little cards and they would be great as gift tags or to put a little note in anything. I hope that you got some inspiration and that you have a wonderful Saturday!

Wisteria Pear Florets Sympathy

Posted on

Good morning and happy Friday to everyone! I love Friday’s and am looking forward to this weekend. I’ll be in Manhattan tomorrow morning and I’m dog sitting for a friend too. Today’s card is a good example of how changing the color and slightly changing the layout gives you a whole new card. I posted a similar card on Sunday and I really liked the card (I should right?!). I needed a sympathy card and I thought that the card I made would make a good sympathy card, it just needed a few tweaks. I started with a base of Wisteria Wonder. The images are from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set. I stamped the leaves and stem in Pear Pizzaz on Whisper White Card Stock. The flower is stamped in Basic Black Ink and I used my Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the petals and the cut it out with my Paper Snips. I mounted it to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional along with the the leaves. For the background I ran a piece of Pear Pizzaz Card Stock through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) is in the middle and then another piece of Pear Pizzaz punched along one edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch makes up the right side. The greeting is stamped in Pear Pizzaz and is from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set (Occasions Mini), it’s backed with some more Pear Pizzaz and adhered to the card with SNAIL. I like the layout and the various background pieces and I’ll see what else I can come up with ¬†using something similar. Thank you so much for stopping by and have an awesome Friday! ūüôā

Plum Celery Mixed Bunch

Posted on

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday… and we know what that means… one more day until Friday! Today was Administrative Professionals Day and my boss Nancy, who is a really great person to work with, gave me a bunch of sunflowers. I thought that was very nice of her. Here is a picture of them…

Aren’t they beautiful?! Ok, now for today’s card… I have mentioned a few times before how much I love the Stampin’ Success magazine that Demonstrators get every month. Today’s card is a modified CASE of one from the current magazine. I started off with a base of Baja Breeze Card Stock. The Distressed Dots Background Stamp is inked in Baja Breeze Ink and stamped for my background. I used a flower image from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) inked in Perfect Plum and punched it out with the Blossom Punch, I also punched out a piece of Certainly Celery with Blossom Punch to go behind it and used a Subtles Collection Glimmer Brad to hold them together. The top of the card features a piece of Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery punched along one side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The second stamped image is also form the Mixed Bunch (Occasions Mini) set and is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and mounted on a piece of Certainly Celery punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Finally the greeting is From the Word Play Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum and mounted on some Certainly Celery. I’m loving the color combination, it’s a new one for me, and hope that you like it too. Have an awesome day and thank for visiting!

Happy Wednesday to you all. Half way through the week is always better that where we were two days ago! I hope that everyone is having a good week, mine is good. I’m finally getting rid of my cold that I have had since Sunday. Today also marks the release of the Retired Accessories List. CLICK HERE to see the list and discounted products available only while supplies last. Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. The talented Mary Fish has give us this sketch to work with…

I knew what set I wanted to use as soon as I saw the sketch. The Tea Shoppe Stamp Set is one of my favorites from the Occasions Mini. It’s also a good reminder that it ends at the end of this month. If there is anything else that you wanted now is as good a time as any to get it. I started off the card with a base of Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the three tea cup image from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) in Pool Part and Wisteria Wonder and punched them out with my 1 1/4″ Square Punch and adhered them to the card with good old SNAIL. I then used my Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the pansy image in Wisteria Wonder and used my Blender Pen to color in the flowers with Pool Party and a touch of Lucky Limeade. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount it on the label. The greeting is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Small Oval Punch. I inked only the word thanks and used the Jewelry Tag Punch for the other greeting. Some Linen Thread and a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the card and it’s done! I love Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder together and The Labels Collection Framelits Dies are great too! I hope you like the card and thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day! ūüôā

Paper Players #92

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday! Hopefully the sun will stay out here on Long Island. Although it could be worse, I could be upstate, where they had snow! I’m not a fan of the white stuff so I’ll suffer through the rain. Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. They have given us the following wonderful sketch…

As I was rifling through my vast array of Stampin’ Up! goodies I saw the Just Believe Stamp Set. I got it a while ago and haven’t used it as much as I would like to. I also noticed that the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) looks somewhat similar to the stamp. That’s when the light went on! The base of the card is Whisper White and I added a piece of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) to the entire card front. I stamped the large image from the Just Believe Stamp Set in Island Indigo and mounted it on a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock that is the length of the card front. The other stamped image is again stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I punched a piece of Baja Breeze Card Stock with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to mount behind it. Some more Baja Breeze is punched on one edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. I used Stampin Dimensionals on the top one for a little lift and then adhered the circle image with them too. The greeting is punched out with the Word Window Punch and Mounted on a piece of Baja Breeze punched out with the Modern Label Punch and also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the subtle tones on the card and hope you enjoy it too. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
