Betsy’s Elements Suede Party Box and Sneak Peek

Posted on

Good Thursday Morning to all of my blog peeps! I hope that you are all having a good week. Now that it’s almost over mine is getting much better. Today I decided that it was time that I did some kind of 3D project. I love 3D projects and this one isn’t all that complicated. I started with two pieces of 5″ Pool Party Card Stock and used my Simply Scored to score it on all four sides at 1/2″ and 1″. Then I cut off the the outer rectangles and put a slit between the rest of them making four tabs. Some folding and Sticky Strip and the box is all done. I stamped a piece of Whisper White Card Stock with the flower burst image from the Betsy’s Blossoms Stamp Set** in Pool Party and punched it out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. Then I stamped a pice of Soft Suede Card Stock with the script image from the French Foliage Stamp Set in Soft Suede and punched that out with the Scallop Oval Punch. I took a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon and placed it behind the oval and adhered it to the flower burst with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The butterfly is from the Creative Elements Stamp Set and is also stamped in Pool Party and I cut that out with my Paper Snips. The for you is from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set** and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies**. The butterfly and banner are also adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. It’s a great size box to give a piece of jewelry or even just a cookie to someone special. I hope that you like today’s project. Thanks for stopping by… oh, and don’t forget that tomorrow, June 1st at 2:00PM EST is when you can start ordering from the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog!

Mojo 243 and Sneak Peek

Posted on

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope that your first day back to work after that nice three day weekend wasn’t too bad. I am constantly just trying to get through to Friday each week! Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Julee Tilman has provided this weeks sketch and it asks round or square…

I always choose the square one, I will have to give the round one a try soon. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock cut to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and the scored at 4 1/4″ and folded. The background uses the Texture Plates Backgrounds 1*** and is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used some Patio Party Designer Series Paper** for the argyle strip and the hearts. The flagged ends are made just using my Paper Snips and a ruler (I am way too anal to eyeball anything!). The heart piece of DSP is mounted on a piece of Primrose Petals* Card Stock. The greetings are from the Priority Mail Host(ess)** Stamp Set and are stamped in Midnight Muse* and Primrose Petals* Ink. The happy birthday is punched out using the Curly Label Punch and the eat cake is punched with the Postage Stamp Punch. I cut out two circles, one in Midnight Muse* and one in Summer Starfruit*, with my Circle Scissor Pro***. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you like the card and have your lists ready to place your orders for items from the new catalog starting this Thursday at 2:00pm EST, I know I do! Thank you for dropping in and have a fantastic day!

Paper Players #97 and Summer Smooches

Posted on

Good morning everyone! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was good, I went to a BBQ and got to see a lot of my friends so that was pretty awesome. Thanks to Brian & Kim for hosting and for the delicious food. 🙂

Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. LeAnne has given us this sketch to work with…

In the spirit of the fun weekend that I had I decided to do a bright and colorful card. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I took two pieces of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper** and used those for the top part of the background. The bottom half is Bashful Blue and is embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used my Circle Scissor Pro*** to cut out a piece of Tangerine Tango Card Stock and another piece of Summer Smooches DSP** for the center. The butterfly is cut from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz L Die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead also made from Summer Smooches DSP** and coated with Crystal Effects, it’s adhered with Mini Glue Dots. For the antennae I used a piece of Hemp Twine***. The flower is a 1″ Circle Punch of Tempting Turquoise and the middle circle is part of the eye from the Owl Builder Punch in Island Indigo. The leaves are made using the 1/2″ Circle punch and reinserting the paper to make the leaf shape. The greeting is form the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The buds are punched form Rich Razzleberry using the small circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the leaves are Lucky Limeade and are also made with the same punch and technique mentioned above. The greeting is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the buds with Mini Glue Dots. I think the bright colors fit in perfectly with weather that we had out here on Long Island this weekend. I hope that you enjoy this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂

Comfort Café Bead Pinwheel Postage Thanks and Sneak Peek

Posted on

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all have some fun outdoor activities planned today with family and friends. It looks like it may be a nice day here today, hopefully it will stay that way! I went over to Stamp with Sandy the other night and we made paper beads and pinwheels. Today’s card features both of those items and another sneak peek. The base of the card is Soft Suede with a piece of Baja Breeze added as a plain background. The piece of Designer Series Paper in the middle is Comfort Café** from the new catalog. I cut it out with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies** and my Big Shot. The pinwheel is made using a piece of First Edition Designer Series Paper. It is cut to 3 1/2″ square and scored diagonally from corner to corner using the Simply Scored with the Diagonal Plate. You then cut up each of the score lines leaving about 1/2″ in the center. Then you punch holes in the right hand side of each of the flaps with the 1/16″ Circle Punch and one in the middle. You take a brad and go around in a circle attaching all of the flaps and then put it through the middle and you have your pinwheel. I cut a thin strip of Soft Suede Card Stock for the stick and used some Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card. The butterfly is made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Midnight Muse* Card Stock. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead made with some more First Edition Designer Series Paper. To make the bead you cut out an 8″ long by 1″ wide triangle and wrap the large end around a toothpick and roll it a little and then use Tombo Multipurpose Glue to adhere the rest of the length which gives you the bead shape. After it has dried for a while you use a paintbrush to coat it with a layer of Crystal Effects to give it the shine and make it a little more durable. It is adhered to the butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot and to the Card With a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is from the Pretty Postage Stamp Set. I used the 1″ Square Punch to punch it out and then the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the corners. I then punched out a piece of Midnight Muse* with the Curly Label Punch for the backing, it is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspired you to try a pinwheel or to make a paper bead. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

CCMC 203 and Sneak Peek

Posted on

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a nice weekend. It was in the 80’s here today and I took a ride in the convertible and Winston went to the groomers and I spent a lot of time crafting today! For me, it was a great day! Today’s card is for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch challenge…

I wanted to use some cool tones so I went with Midnight Muse* and the Basic Grey from the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. The base of the card is Midnight Muse Card Stock* and the background is Twitterpated DSP. I used the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die to cut out a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. With a little work and some help from your Paper Piercer the end result is a really nice paper doily. I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on a sliver of Basic Grey for the bottom. The greeting is from the Keep Calm Stamp Set** and is stamped in Midnight Muse*. I used the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies** to cut out the “and” and popped it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional which I also used to adhere the greeting to the card. The pocketbook is from the same set and I mounted it to a 1″ circle with another Stampin’ Dimensional. I love the simplicity of the card and the colors. I’m also loving the Keep Calm** set and can’t wait to order some more new items from the Catalog on Thursday! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

Wisteria Black First Edition Type Oldie

Posted on

Happy Saturday everyone. Welcome to the start of our three day weekend. For today’s card I found one that I made a while ago and it made me remember how much I like the stamp set and miss it. This card is also a great example of how you can make a great card with just a Stamp Set, Punch, Card Stock and Designer Series Paper. The base of the card is a note card size piece Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background. The typewriter image, stamped in Basic Black, is from the You’re My Type Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini and is no longer available. I backed it with some Wisteria Wonder Card Stock and punched out a piece of Basic Black Card Stock with the Decorative Label Punch and cut it in half and mounted it to the top and bottom of the Wisteria Wonder. The “a little note…” is stamped in Basic Black too. A few of these put together in a box would make a great gift and the main image could easily be swapped out for another current one. I hope that you like today’s card and thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Oh, I’m thinking of doing some blog candy! Maybe a stamp set from the new catalog… possibly starting Monday… who thinks that is a good idea?!

Hello everyone and welcome to Friday… three day weekend Friday! Bought to you this week by Memorial Day! I have no definite plans this weekend so I am going to try and get some crafting time in. What are all of you up to this weekend? Today’s card is another sneak peek at items from the upcoming 2012-2013 Catalog. The bottom half of the background is a piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper**. I love the texture in the design on the paper, it gives it a nice worn look. I covered the seam with some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. The greeting and border are from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set** and are stamped in Midnight Muse*. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and stamped off the leaves image from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set** in Summer Starfruit*. The flagged pieces are cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies** in Cajun Craze and adhered to the back of the label and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird, stamped in Soft Suede, and butterflies, stamped in Cajun Craze are also from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set** and are cut out with paper Snips and mounted to the DSP with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on each of the butterflies complete the card. I love the mix of colors in the Comfort Café DSP**, some old ones and some new.
