Freshly Made Sketches #56

Posted on

A very good Friday morning to you! It’s my favorite day of the week! I have some projects to get to this weekend, a one year old birthday party and a little outing with my friend Sandy! I love the weekend, especially when it’s going to be a productive one! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Rita is our host for the sketch and she has given us this…

Avery nice simple panel that I thought would be perfect for a non-tradiotional Holiday card. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I added a panel of Summer Starfruit to the base. The strip of paper across the bottom is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and I backed it with a piece of Early Espresso to make it a little more rigid. The ribbon is Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and I used a Round Designer Ribbon Slide instead of a bow. Some Sticky Strip adheres it around the back of the DSP strip and Β some more Sticky Strip on each side holds it a little above the card. The image is from the Christmas Lodge Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler and backed it with a piece of Early Espresso. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. I really like the combination of the Summer Starfruit, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. The houndstooth DSP and the colors give it a little bit of a vintage feel without any distressing. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Thank you, as always, for visiting with me today and have a great Friday! πŸ™‚

  5. Hi Justin,

Your card is fabulous! I really like the colors, and great choice to use the ribbon slide rather than a ribbon! I love it.

    • Hello Martha,

Thank you very much, I’m so glad that enjoyed the card! I’m a big fan of the Ribbon Slides, not a big bow person! LOL! Have a great day! πŸ™‚
