Paper Craft Crew Sketch & Color Challenge #26

Posted on

Well here we are at Wednesday again! Halfway there! It is bitterly cold here on Long Island. I think the high temperature yesterday was 21 degrees and it’s 10 degrees now! The little bit of snow that we had still is there in some places. They say we are supposed to get more snow on Friday, I hope they are wrong. Did you make your lists and place your Sale-A-Bration orders yesterday? I really think that items they have tis year are among the best they have had in a while. I’m having so much fun playing with my goodies!

Now on to today’s post which is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a sketch and color challenge…

And the colors are Daffodil Delight, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink. I will admit that I struggled a little with the colors. I finally settled upon a Valentine for my card. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Bashful Blue with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp in Bashful Blue. The strip of paper down the length of the right side is Floral District Designer Series Paper and there is a piece of Daffodil Delight next to it. The main panel consists of a piece of Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue that I cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. The pink one is pierced around the edge using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I used the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the blue piece. The stamped image is the Happy Heart Single Stamp that is stamped in Pretty in Pink and punched out with the Full Heart Punch. They are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Bashful Blue, also embossed with the polkadots, is cut out with the Petite Curly Label Punch**. On top of that is a piece of Pretty in Pink that I punched out with the Small Heart Punch. I used the Heart to Heart Punch (Vintage) and the Owl Builder Punch to punch out some Silver Glimmer Paper to give it a little sparkle. I actually like the card and it reminds me of candy for some reason. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch & Color Challenge. Please stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and enter a card of your own. Thank you so much for visiting with me today and I hope the rest of your day is great!

  1. I would never have thought of a Valentine using those three colors, but you have made it work! I love the addition of the Petite Curly Label and Heart punches – adds a pretty little spot of interest.
Dumb question – where do you find the pictures of product? That’s such a good idea to include with samples. Especially when its something new or unusual.

    • Thanks Carol! I struggled a bit with the colors! I get my product pics from the customer site. I make sure I click to enlarge them and then save them. 🙂

  2. Great job with this sketch! I am having so much fun following your site and seeing what your creative mind comes up with! 🙂 I like the pop of yellow – it was unexpected – but very cool.

  3. Pretty card and I think it would be even prettier IRL as my computer is not showing the true P in P and Bashful Blue colours! Love the cute little hearts and the touch of glimmer!
