Freshly Made Sketches #72

Posted on

Hello from really snowy Long Island. Boy did we get walloped last night! I think we got about 16 inches of snow. 😦 I will not be leaving the house today, my car doesn’t like the snow at all. When I let Winston out last night at 11:45 it was a blizzard. Sigh, guess I’ll get a lot of stuff done around the house today! I did watch Skyfall last night and I have to say that I really enjoyed it, but I’m a big James Bond fan so my opinion may be a little swayed!

Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Cindy has provided us with this sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches #72

This was one of those cards that as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to use. I got some new goodies from Mr. Brown today so I used some of those too! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used some Whisper White that I stamped with an image from the new Sent With Love Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler for the top half of the background. The bottom half is a piece of the Sent With Love Designer Series Paper. Across the middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Dude, You’re Welcome Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. For a little added detail I stamped another one of the images from the Sent With Love Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and tilted it ever so slightly for a little imperfect tag on a package look! I love the Sent With Love Stamps and DSP. I have wanted a plane for the longest time and the patterns in the DSP are great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Thank you so much for checking in with me today, I hope you are having better weather than we are and that you have a great day! 🙂

  3. Too bad you got so much snow. They told us to expect 6″ and I don’t think we got 2″.
Really well done card, Kevin. Love the stamping in red/white/blue. Looks very official! Did you do the envelope too? I think I would.
PS Got my SU order without a hitch. Thanks.

    • Yes, I am not thrilled at all with the snow. I wish we were that lucky! I’m glad you like the card! I didn’t do an envelope but now that you mention it I think I will. So happy that you got your order! If you need anything else let me know! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin, you are making full use of your new products. So good to see how they can be used. No sign of the Sent With Love for us here so I think we will not be getting it. I sure have enough stash anyway! I am glad you now have a little plane stamp! Wow that is some snow you have had! I think you had better migrate down here over your winter LOL!!

    • Hello Jean! I do love the new stuff they have released! I have wanted a plane stamp for a long time and almost went elsewhere! Thankfully they came through! The snow was awful but they say rain on Monday so hopefully that will get rid of it. I think I had better migrate somewhere, Australia would be ok by me. My cousin is arriving there as we speak!
