Fab Friday 18 & Sneak Peek

Posted on

A very happy to Friday to you all! I’m off today and am going to do some cleaning, crafting and relaxing. I look at a day off as a chance to catch up on some neglected things. Cleaning as of late has been neglected and relaxing is always neglected, the crafting is just a necessity! The weather here today was torrential downpours and then some sun. It was alittle muggy but not cold so I’m ok with that!

Today’s post – Fab Friday Design Team 18 Color Challenge…

Fab Fri 18 Color 5-09-2013

The idea for this card started out with wanting to punch the new alphabet out with the new Mosaic Punch and grew from there. The base of the card is Soft Suede. The middle consists of some Print Poetry Designer Series Paper, Summer Starfruit embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Primrose Petals stamped with the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. The letters are from the ABC – 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Mosaic Punch*. I think I have mentioned how fond I am of the new alphabet, it’s a great size and I like the sketched look. Thank you for visiting with me today to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Check out the Fab Friday Blog to see what the other designers have for you and enter your card for me to see! Have a wonderful day!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! They work amazingly with our new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads for great ink coverage. You are going to love them! This is a limited release so make sure you get one before it’s gone!

  2. Thanks for this… I have been on the prowl this week for a good “just thinking of you” masculine cards (I am going to try to send a card to my grandfather every 2 weeks or so, since my grandmother just passed away last week; Father’s Day cards are ‘easy’, but want some cards to just let him know I’m thinking of him a lot)… this will be perfect, with just a slight color scheme modification!

  4. Love your card it reminds me of Summer. I’m still waiting on Spring to be here for good. The high for Sunday is 51 – that doesn’t sound like Spring to me. Hope you are enjoying your day off.

I love your card today! My first thought was that it looked like Native American weaving, but the more I looked at it, it seemed more Mediterranean. Either way, it’s great! You’re a true inspiration!
