Hello peeps! It was an absolutely gorgeous day here on Long Island yesterday. Temps in the 70’s and plenty of sunshine. Days like that make it hard to stay in work all day, but I managed to! What’s going on by you? Only one more day until my favorite day and then off to the weekend! Not sure what I’m going to be doing but I’m thinking I might like a little trip into Manhattan to see my friend Kim. 🙂

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. The lovely Julee Tilman has given us this…

The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background consists of a piece of Soft Sky on top and some Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper on the lower half. In the center is a Tea Lace Paper Doily with some Tangerine Tango, cut out with the Circles Framelits Dies, that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped image is from the Tags 4 You Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Bracket Label Punch. Behind it is a piece of Whisper White that is stamped with the image from the Truly Grateful Stamp Set in Crushed Curry and backed with a piece of Early Espresso. A flagged piece of Crushed Curry with some Naturals 7/16″ Trim Ribbon goes across the center. I threaded a Naturals Designer Button with Linen Thread and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot in the center to finish off the card. I’m really liking the fall colors and the Sweater Weather DSP is pretty neat too! Thanks for taking some time out of your day to stop by and see my Mojo Monday Sketch Card for this week’s challenge! I hope you have an enjoyable Thursday!

  1. Love! Not a big fan of the doilies, but this is a stunning use and an incredible card! WTG!

  2. Gorgeous card, Justin! Love all the texture and you did an amazing job layering. Love it!

  3. This card is Perfection! Love how you used the stamp set! Have fun in Manhattan!

  4. Love this card – all the wonderful colors and lots of layers. Woo Hoo. Have a wonderful day.

  5. Aaawww!!! This could very well be a Masculine Card, which I been needing in those COLORS! Jackpot! Now, no more racking my brain, ( which comes so easy for you)!
How do you come to figure out what combo of colors you chose? I really struggle with this one, and to try and make it look good!
Thanks for the idea! And I’ll tell em, Justin sent it!!!!

    • Thank you Vicki! Yes, it definitely could be a masculine card and I too love the colors. I look to the DSP sometimes for color inspiration but a lot of it comes from things around me. Magazines, billboards and just nature in general. It may sound corny but I try to take it all in. Thanks again and enjoy your day! 🙂

  6. Love. Love. Love! I tried to pin it so I can drool over it later and I couldn’t?! I’ll have to add your blog to my bloglovin’ list! 🙂

  7. Love this one, Justin! It is right up my stamping-style alley. Doilies make everything better, and I love them with unexpected elements — like the plaid and natural ribbon. Beautiful card!
