Paper Players 159

Posted on

Ahh.. Monday, I see you are back again. I wish you were a little more considerate of Saturday and Sunday and let them take their time leaving! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice. I had my Manhattan outing on Saturday and I spent a lot of time crafting which always makes me a happy boy. The weather here yesterday was overcast and it drizzled from time to time but a pretty good day none the less.

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge and Ann has given us a one layer card…

Paper Players #159

I do love to make a one layer card! It can be a real challenge, especially if you like to layer things up an pile on the embellishments, but who doesn’t like to go outside their comfort zone?! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I created a mask for where I stamped the sentiment with some printer paper. I stamped the Magnificent Maple Stamp in Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso and Real Red randomly on the card. After I lifted the mask I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the greeting from the Thankful Stamp and stamped it in Rich Razzleberry. To create the outline I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and a ruler. After I finished the card I went on to make a few other projects and when I looked at it again I could swear the greeting looked separate! Thank you so much for coming by today to see my card for this week’s CAS Single Layer card from Ann. Have a good Monday! 🙂

  1. For a one layer card, it looks like there’s a lot of depth and the greeting looks added, rather than masked. Well done, Justin.

  2. Beautiful, Justin! The greeting does, in fact, look like a separate level of the card. You’ve made a two-layer card in just one layer. Woo hoo! AND, these colors are wonderful together. I hope your Monday is super!

  7. So Elegant and Rich. This card looks like you embossed each left. So detailed. The banner is great – i definitely does not look like a one layer card. Great job.

Loving your color choices and the leaves scattered as though a breeze scattered them about….the placement of your banner is perfect…does not appear one dimensional…magic!
