CORRECTION One of my readers, Mary, was kind enough to point out that I used the wrong name for the Stamp Set and Framelits. It should be Backyard Basics not Secret Garden. Thank you Mary! Time to stop typing my post after midnight! 🙂
Hello there peeps! How is it going? Me, well… like I said yesterday work is insanely busy. We have a conference tomorrow and all of the last minute stuff needs to be done today. What that really means is that everything needs to be done today! I did have another nice quiet evening at home last night. I sat at my craft desk and puttered around. It was very productive too, I got three cards made. Love it when that happens!
Before I get to today’s post it’s Thursday and that means it’s time for Stampin’ Up!’s one day specials. This is the last round of Thank you Thursday specials and it features Chevron Ribbon! You can see them below and click here to place an order for these and any other goodies you might need!
Today have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch is provided by the talented Rita…
I really like the fact that it has symmetry but is off just a little. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The three bees are from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Jet Black Staz-On and cut out with the coordinating Backyard Basics Framelits Dies Secret Garden Framelits Dies. I punched a piece of So Saffron out with the Hexagon Punch and the bees and hexagon are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is cut out with the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I threaded some Linen Thread through one of the Subtles Designer Buttons and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot to complete the card. I love the softness of the So Saffron with the Very Vanilla and the bees are just neat! I appreciate you stopping by to see my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Rita. I hope that everyone has a good Thursday! 🙂

Justin – this card is really quite lovely. It needs nothing more.
Thank you Brian! I thought of you when I finished it. 😉
HI Justin:
Absolutely fantastic card! I love the clean look of the very vanilla and so saffron paper. I have the Secret Garden stamp set but can’t find the bees stamp in it. Where am I going wrong here? This card would be perfect for any occasion but for me it immediately drew to mind a perfect design for a sympathy card, which I can never design to my satisfaction. Thanks for such a gorgeous card.
Thank you Grace! The reason that you can’t find the bee is because it’s in the Backyard Basics Stamp Set and Framelits! Sorry!!
Yes, it would make a great sympathy card, I will definitely keep that in mind! 🙂
Thanks Justin – for a while there I thought I was losing it. I have the Backyard Basics set and Framelits – Hooray!
LOL! No Grace, I’m the one loosing it! 🙂
This is the bees knees for sure! The bees and the honey comb folr were made for eah other 🙂
Thanks you Linda! 🙂
Cute Cute Cute card. Love the Bee’s. MMMM, I think I see Pinterest here.
Thank you Cynthia! I love the bees too!! 🙂
BEEautiful card, Justin! Simple and elegant, yet fun too! Gotta love that honeycomb embossing folder.
Thank you very much Crystal! Yes, the Honeycomb EF is great, it was feeling neglected! 🙂
The bees are from Backyard Basics not Secret Garden. Slight snafu! I do like the card. Thanks, Justin.
Thank you so much Mary! I have corrected it! Glad you like the card! 🙂
Hi Justin….I’ve been following your blog for a long time and have wondered what kind of work you do at your regular job. It sounds interesting. Where on Long Island do you live? One of our daughters once lived in Port Jefferson and we loved visiting there with all it’s tourist things to do. Keep up your interesting blog…..Bobbie
Hi Bobbie! I work for a company that takes care of individuals with special needs. I am the Marketing Coordinator for FREE. It feels like I really do work for free! LOL! I live in Bethpage, I love Port Jefferson. I’m so glad to have you stop by! Enjoy your day! 🙂
Beautiful card, as always! Simple, but special. Claudia

Thank you Jennifer! Enjoy your weekend! 🙂
Love this card Justin – the colours are so subtle. The hexagon EF is a favourite of mine too (only just invested in the punch though 😉 )
Thanks Joanne! LOL! I forgot about the Honeycomb EF, it’s been a while. 🙂
