SUO Challenges 84

Posted on

Glad to see that we all made it through another Monday. Mine was filled with meetings and the usual office shenanigans. It was another nice day, a little windy, but not too cold. This morning however, it’s really windy and promises to get a lot colder, winter is back again. I really don’t mind it’s little appearances, lets just hope that it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome!

My card today is for the SUO Challenges and this time our theme is let it snow. I decided on a nice simple card, sometimes you just need one don’t you?! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I used a piece of Pool Party for the background and stamped the snowflakes from the Snow Day Stamp Set in Pool Party randomly. My tree is from the Special Season Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Gumball Green Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. This would be a great card to mass produce because while it’s simple, the embossed tree gives it that little something extra! Thanks so much for coming by today to see my simple card for the SUO Challenges let it snow challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what the other clever designers have come up with and don’t forget to post your card in the gallery! Have a simply enjoyable day!

  2. You’re right Justin……the embossing really does make this card and, at this time of year, aren’t we all looking for a nice, easy to mass produce, Christmas card that still says “we cared enough to make it ourselves”? I would not have thought to emboss images in the same color as the paper I am using but it certainly works. AND, I never even paid attention to that spectacular snowflake stamp until your card just now. What a beautiful snowflake it is. Speaking of snowflakes, we are expecting some Friday and Saturday but I’m not mentally ready for them yet! LOL

    • Thank you Grace! It does give it that little extra that it needed. Yes, I’m always looking for something nice and easy to mass produce. The snowflake is fun, it’s just the right size. I’m not mentally ready for snow yet either! Enjoy your evening! 🙂

  3. Very pretty and yes you are right would be an easy one to mass produce (LOL as long as one does not ‘burn’ the paper while embossing that is…LOL just saying!). I did not like Gumball Green but the more I see it, I think it will be on my next order… thanks to a gerat enabler! TFS

  6. I didn’t think I would like the Pool Party with Gumball Green (one of my faves), but then I looked at the card. Ooooh, yes. The embossing makes the tree look like a soft fir. Thanks for this card! I’m just not ready for cold weather in spite of it –still wearing short sleeves and no socks or coat. We had very high winds and heavy rain Sunday, but no damage this time like usual on our small mountain top. Nevertheless, have a great week and Congratulations on all your latest achievements. 8. Hi Justin! Wow, a one-layer card that looks great! I should try that more often. 🙂 For some reason I’m singin’ O Tannenbaum (to myself of course, don’t want to break any windows and let the cold in!) I love the colors you put together, something I wouldn’t have thought of, but as usual, you’ve made it look wonderful! Have a great rest of your day!
