Well, my boss had the best time in Israel! I haven’t seen her that excited or passionate ever! She told us all about her trip and how it was the best experience of her life. I was so happy! I keep telling her that there is more to life than work, I think she sees that now. The rest of the day was business as usual and I had a nice relaxing night when I got home. I crafted and then I sped through the American Music Awards on the DVR. Speaking of music has anyone heard Lorde’s version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World from the new Hunger Games Soundtrack? It’s amazing, so haunting and menacing, I love it!

Now for today’s card and the inspiration comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tilman…

Round or square… we won’t even talk about that! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack with a piece of Pool Party across the middle. For the square and the rectangle I used some Island Indigo and Smoky Slate Textured Card Stock both backed with some Silver Foil Sheet. My greeting is from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed with some more Island Indigo Textured Card Stock. The image under that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin Dimensionals hold it to the card. I think the unexpected floral image with the Cherry Cobbler greeting gives the card a little unexpected pop. Thanks for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Have yourselves a nice Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Love the silver borders around the panels – and the pop of red in the center.

  3. I think that DSP is simply the most elegant of any that have come out. To combine that with the foil paper really accents it’s beauty. For some reason I can never put 2 DSP sheets together and like the result but you certainly have encouraged me to keep on trying. This is a gorgeous card Justin and you did a fantastic job. By the way, it’s snowing like mad here in Maine – thought you’d like to hear that. LOL

  4. Ooh, very pretty, Justin! I have seen you mix up reds and blues recently, so I credit you for giving it a go myself with a card I made. Thanks for the inspiration! I’m also really behind in what’s hitting the music charts these days. And I mean REALLY behind. . . I’ll have to go hit up iTunes and look for Lorde. Especially since tomorrow night we’re all going to see The Hunger Games II.

    • Thanks Crystal! Yeah! So happy you gave it a try! Listen to the soundtrack snippets on iTunes! I’m going to see the movie soon, I just watched the first one the other night. You’ll have to let me know what you think! 🙂

  5. I agree – the surprise of Cherry Cobblers really adds a “pop” to your card!
I’m back on your email list again – thanks for taking care of it for me.
As one who has taken the amazing journey to Israel, I know just how your boss feels. She’ll be on a special high for quite a while!

    • Thank you Carol! Yeah! I looked and it said you were still there! I wonder what happened? She is still on that high and I couldn’t be happier for her! 🙂
