Freshly Made Sketches 114

Posted on

So you know how I was all excited about having off on Friday? Well let me tell you, they made up for that yesterday. I did about three days worth of work today, so much for getting out early! It was rainy and nasty all day here today, they promise it will be sunny tomorrow though. We shall see! I have lots to do today. I’m dog sitting, I have some more bookmarks to make (work had asked for 40 bookmarks, they’ve now asked me to make 20 more and have them ready by Friday) and various other projects to get through. I hope all of your Thanksgiving plans go well and that you are ready to fill yourselves up and have a great evening with family.

Linda S. over at Freshly Made Sketches provides our inspiration for today’s card…

Freshly Made Sketches #114

I used Bermuda Bay Card Stock for the base of my card today. Then I used some Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss my greeting which is the Be Very Merry Stamp. Next up is two strips of Silver Glimmer Paper across the lower half of the card. The Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used to emboss a piece of Silver Foil Sheet for my panel. The snowflake is stamped in Bermuda Bay and then using a Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I then used the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. To complete the card, I put a Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the middle of the snowflake. Lots of shine and glitter, but I really like the way the stamped and heat embossed snowflake came out, and who doesn’t like a little bling?! Thanks for taking some time out of your busy Thanksgiving day to stop by my blog. I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches and that your tryptophan from your turkey lets you take a nice nap after dinner. Have a very happy Thanksgiving (and a happy 2nd night of Hanukkah to all of my Jewish readers!)! 🙂

  2. Why or why have I never thought of using an embossing folder on the foil papers? This card is absolutely fabulous! Hey Justin, we aren’t eating until 6 – you still have time to hop a plane at LaGuardia and we’ll pick you up in Portland!

  3. Bermuda Bay is growing on me with your pairing it with silver. The silver and gold foil papers are perfect for the holidays, and the new diagonal stylish stripes EF is one of my favorites. Great interpretation of the sketch, Justin! Good luck with the dog and the bookmarks. Wouldn’t you know that work would extract that pound of flesh to give you a day “off.” I guess you should have expected some strings behind that curtain…Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful to have you as a blog friend and your generosity of ideas. Thanks, thanks, thanks! Nancy B
