SUO Challenges 85

Posted on

It was a nice day here yesterday, it got up into the 50’s but boy did it get cold last night! I went to my friend Sandy’s for Stamp-A-Stack (it helps me get a bunch of cards done to send out!) which is always a good time. I have to polish my Leadership presentation and get started on the visual part next. I’m so excited to be doing it but still a bit nervous at the same time. I want it to be the best! How was your day?

Every other Tuesday it’s time for another post for SUO Challenges. This time we ask that you make a non-traditional Christmas card. Well, we all know how I love that!! My card starts off with a base of Strawberry Slush Card Stock. I used my sunburst Window Sheet template to create my background using a sponge dauber and some Coastal Cabana ink. My image is from the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush on Blushing Bride and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out some So Saffron dots for the middle of the flower. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set, stamped in the same colors and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. My poinsettia and greeting are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very non-traditional Christmas card but if you think about it the pinks and blue-green are not that far away from red and green and that sunburst template has come in quite handy! I always appreciate you stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for the SUO Challenges non traditional Christmas card challenge. Do stop by the blog to see what my fellow design team members have done and enter your creation in the gallery so we can check out your take. Enjoy your day! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin! Hope your day is off to a great start! This is another great card using non-traditional Christmas colors! I think the owl builder punch is one of the most versatile punches. Seems like I’m always using some component of that. Your paper-snipping is flawless as well! Great card!

    • Hi Karen! My was a day and that’s all I’m going to say! LOL! I would agree with you about the Owl Builder Punch, I use it for odds and ends all the time. I’m glad you liked the card and hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  2. Very un- and non-traditional Justin. For a minute there I thought they had come up with a die for the flower!!!! Can’t wait to see your presentation. Are you allowed to say the subject? I am sure it will be great but I understand the nervousness.

    • Thank you Louise! Yes, I do like some non-traditional don’t I?!?! I also enjoy some fussy cutting! My presentation is on Pinterest! Shh! LOL!

      • Oh….. better make sure I am registered for that one…. or change it LOL. I NEED some desperate help with all technical aspects of social media (which I sometimes find a little bit anti-social…. good for long-distance chatting of course but given the opportunity I much prefer face-to-face or at least voice). Having said that I would not have any news from my grandkids if it was not for emails and internet… so go figure.

      • LOL! Yes, you better Louise! I also prefer face to face or at least FaceTime! We are so reliant on email and texts now, I couldn’t live without it! 🙂
