Paper Craft Crew 70

Posted on

Last year at work it was kind of quiet around this time, this year, not so much. I had another field trip this morning and a second one in the afternoon! Not that I’m complaining, because I do like to get out of the office. Who knows what today will bring? Stay tuned tomorrow to find out! LOL! And Friday I get to go to work at 6:15 in the morning. YAY! Can you feel the excitement? I hope your week is going better than mine is. Well, I do get my new goodies today from my pre-order, that will make everything better!!

On a happier note, today I have my Design Team post for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. We have a fun one this week that you can layer up…

PCCCS070 12-04-2013

For the base of my card I used a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock. The background is a piece of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and the Soft Sky edge on the right side is created with the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade. The next layer is a piece Crushed Curry that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with another piece of Chocolate Chip. My greeting is from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip, I backed it with a piece of Soft Sky that is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and two Tangerine Tango flags stem from the bottom. To complete the card, I stamped the bee from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set in Basic Black and cut him out with the Backyard Basics Framelits, a Stampin’ Dimensional holds him in place. Funnily enough, I realized after I finished the card that the greeting pairs quite nicely with the bee and the honeycomb! Happy accidents are the best! 🙂 As always, thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my blog. Don’t forget to head over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what the rest of the Design Team did with the sketch and remember to enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you did with it!

  1. Great job with this sketch, Justin! Very striking! I love the use of the teif with the bee! I have both products, but I haven’t pulled them out lately, I need to rethink that!
    Have a great day!

  3. HI Justin! Ok…now I need the rotary trimmer blade! I love the layout of this card and I also have that bee/framelit set but haven’t used it! You’ve inspired me (and made my checkbook a little less as well…) Have fun with your new goodies–can’t wait to get mine! And good news…the weekend will be here before you know it!

  4. That Sweater Weather paper is my favorite DSP of all time. It is the most versatile paper I’ve ever bought and you’ve made it pop with this creation Justin. Great job.

  5. Love how you made a ‘blue ribbon’ out of all the different products. Still can’t decide to purchase the rotary trimmer blade. It does add a nice touch. Received my Backyard Basics framelits and stamp set Monday but no time to play with them yet. Overall nice card.

    • Thank you Lisa! I do like the little scallop that the rotary blade adds. I am trying to stop neglecting my older sets. That’s about to get harder, my Occasions order arrives today! 😉

  6. Cute card Justin. At least 3 items I have that are still in their unopened package…. shame on me! The rotary blade for example: it’s coming out of its box tonight!!!! How do you get your pre-order so fast? I put mine in on Sunday but won’t see it probably till end of next week! When I checked earlier it was still ‘picking’….. patience!

    • Thanks Louise! You need to open those packages! I am guilty of that too though! I bite the bullet and pay for express shipping because I have no patience! LOL!

  9. As a beekeeper’s wife, I LOVE this card. Sweater Weather is so homey and cozy, and the bee, honeycomb folder, and sentiment are perfect together. Keep you fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow so I can stay home and stamp!
