Pals Paper Arts 182

Posted on

Yesterday was a fun day! I went to bed Thursday night at 12:30, got up at 4:15 was at work at 6:15, I told my boss around 9:15 that I wasn’t going to make the whole day. I left work at 1:00 and came home and passed out for four hours, I felt much better after my nap! LOL! I had some dinner, crafted and even watched a movie! Not a bad day after all! I’ll be going to CT later on to see Andrew and Satellite Lane solo, Kim can’t make it. I might be able to convince Danielle to come, or endure four hours of solitude in a car, I’ll let you know how that goes!!

I want to thank Ann for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s Pals Paper Arts! You can see my original Post here and the winners picks here. This week we have a fun color challenge from the Pals…

PPA 182

Today I have some more sneak peeks including some goodies from the 2014 Sale-A-Bration Catalog! The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. My background is the new Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* and is cut from a piece of Very Vanilla. The greeting is from the You’re Lovely Stamp Set** and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Smoky Slate and cut out with the Deco Labels Framelits. The cluster of flowers is stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla using the Petite Petals Stamp Set* and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch*. They are all adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I absolutely love the new Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. It cuts out enough of the color you use while still letting the background peek through, it’s awesome! I hope you’re enjoying the sneak peeks you’ve been getting! 😉 Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to come check out my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. Here’s to a great, fun-filled weekend!

  1. Hi Justin! Oh my–best card ever!! This is such a nice card! I love everything about it and I’m adding the hexagon thinlet to my list right now! Silly me—I didn’t think I “needed” it! Love the colors, the placement of the flowers, the sentiment…wonderful card! Enjoy your venture today and hope you can talk someone else into going with you! Either way, have a great time and maybe you can talk Andrew into making another card for all of us to see?? Love the sneak peeks!

  2. Justin, Really cool card! When I saw that Hexagon thinlit, I didn’t look closely enough. I didn’t realize that not all the ‘hexs’ were punched out. This has a much more interesting design this way. Love your use of the flowers too! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Fantastic card Justin! The placement of the flower cluster is absolutely perfect with just the amount of each color. I really love this card. I haven’t been a fan of smoky slate but I like the way you used it in this card. Made it stand out for sure. Enjoy your day, drive carefully, I hate driving the LIE!

    • Thank you Grace! I really like Smoky Slate, more than Basic Gray! It’s almost more silver than gray. I too hate the LIE!! I hope your day is fun! 🙂

  4. WOW Justin…Everything about this card is OFF THE CHARTS!!!! The cluster of flowers just cascade beautifully down the card. Of course you’re using items that I also wanted to pre-order but didn’t. I can see I might have more orders to put in. It’s so hard not to order everything all at once. The purse strings don’t allow it sometimes. I will eventually have them in the long run. The elegant eggplant is so royal. A very beautiful card. Thank You

  5. Very pretty, Justin! I’ve been wondering if the cutouts from the hive die are the same size as the hexagons on the honeycomb folder? Either way, I am getting one!

  10. The impact of your card is stunning. I love the gray and eggplant with the vanilla. I had to go back and study what you did with the new Hive Thinlit. Wow, what an interesting cut out! I can’t wait to get it. Just when I thought I would not get any more floral designs, I can’t resist a stamp with a matching punch! You are quite the sales rep and artist. My demo met you and Brian at Convention and I am sure she will thank you. Both of you really turn my head with your creations. Have a great weekend! Nancy B

    • Thank you Nancy! I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with the colors at first. And yes, the thinlit has an interesting cutout. Now if only I made commission on all of this. LOL! Who’s your demo? I hope you had a good Saturday.

      • My demo is Barbara Becker right here in New Richmond, OH, just a couple of roads away from me. I met her when our kids were in band together and we just melded into best friends. The stamping has been icing on the cake.

      • That sounds like fun Nancy! And yes, stamping is the icing! 😉

  18. Hi Justin,
Love your card! Last night at 3 am when I couldn’t sleep, I grabbed the Occasions catalog, looked at what I had pre-ordered (coming on Wed.) and planned one of my swaps for Leadership. I’m using the hive die and the Petite Petals stamp & punch along with the banners stamp and framelit. Today, I see your card- similar but different. So glad to hear that the flower fits in the hexagon. If you are going to Leadership, I’ll look for you and save you a swap.

    • Thank you Valerie! Great minds think alike! I am presenting at Leadership, I don’t know if I will have time to make swaps, but I look forward to seeing yours! 🙂
