Paper Craft Crew 72 & Sneak Peek

Posted on

What a lovely day it was here yesterday! I woke up to it snowing and it continued to snow for most of the first half of the day. Around 2:00pm it started to rain which was ok because it washed a way most of the snow. The only bad part was that it was about 26 degrees here last night so that turned most everything into a skating rink! Wait, it is going to be in the 60’s here over the weekend! Maybe we can will it to stay!! LOL! My day for the most part was good otherwise. My friend stopped by for a bit, I got my Christmas cards written out and I worked on a project. Now tomorrow to print the address labels and mail those cards!

Today I have my post for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week we have a neat little sketch for you…

PCCCS072 12-18-2013

I wanted to show you some more goodies from the 2014 Occasions Catalog so that’s all I used! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock and my background is a piece of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper*. My flower and bee are from the Springtime Hello Stamp Set*, the bee is stamped in Basic Black and the flower is markered with Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies to cut out my stamped image and a lager one to put behind it. Some of the Gold Sequin Trim is adhere to the backing along the edge and the stamped piece is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set* and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card and some loose sequins finish it off. I LOVE the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper* and the we all know how I feel about sequins! Thank you for checking out my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Check out the other projects on the blog and let’s see what you come up! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

    • Yes Karen they have indeed! I am hoping the brightness of the card encourages the warmer weather to stay! Glad you enjoyed the peek and you have a great day too! 🙂

  4. You lucky duck Justin! You’re going to be in the 60’s this weekend and our forecasters are calling for rain/snow/ice and high winds. Geez – if you get some 60’s could you please send them up north to us here in Maine? It would be very much appreciated.

I just absolutely LOVE this card Justin. It’s quite a combination of simple yet complicated yet simple. The design is fabulous but the color combination is fantastic. It would never ever have occurred to me to slice off a piece of an oval to get that great look. Super, duper job and, needless to say, I love the sequins.

    • LOL! Yes Grace, lucky indeed! I will see what I can do, I’m trying to get my friend Carolyn to send me some 80’s from Australia! I’m so happy you like the card. It was definitely fun to make an yes, I too love the sequins! Enjoy your day! 🙂

  5. Justin, I love how you used the Springtime Hello set. This is such a ‘Happy’ card!

  6. Hey Justin ! How clever to position that oval over on the edge of the card . What a new idea ,Mister Creativity ! Like those sequins …i think i will have to order some . Pretty spring like card .

  7. Hi Justin! I really like the way you off-set the oval and trimmed it flat. The essence of the watercolor of the daffodil dsp is something I am looking forward to seeing in real life. Thanks again for the sneak peek. Your card is very peaceful and springy. May you have bright skies and warm weather this week! Nancy B

    • Thank you Nancy! The DSP is quite nice in really life, it definitely has that watercolor look to it! I think you wish for the warm weather part is coming true! 🙂
