Freshly Made Sketches 117 & Sneak Peek

Posted on

I was up at 4:15 yesterday morning and to work by 6:50, it was the last forum and I was glad to see them finished! The rest of work was quiet and I managed to sneak out at 2:00! I came home a crafted for a bit and then went to my parents for dinner. My brother and his wife came with my little Nephew Daniel. He is so cute!! I finally got to hold him for a bit and he was nice and quiet for me. Babies like me for some reason, maybe I have a soothing voice?!?! LOL! Oh, I hope that you enjoyed the Control Freaks Blog Tour yesterday and your little peek at the 2014 Occasions Catalog! Thanks for all of your lovely comments!! 🙂

Today’s card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and this week it’s a fun super clean one from sweet Amy…

Freshly Made Sketches #117

I absolutely loved the card that she made, and all of the other ones are awesome too! You know I have a thing for vellum so I used some of the fun new Designer Vellum from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. My banners are cut from some Brushed Gold Card Stock, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Gold Foil Sheet and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum*. I used some of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape* over a piece of Whisper White and some Stampin’ Dimensionals across the top of the flags. My greeting is from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some really tiny Stampin’ Dimensional pieces adhere that to the card. Not and overly complicated card but I love the gold and vellum with the Midnight Muse! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

  5. Oh…..so very chic! I can picture this as simple yet very elegant wedding invitation. Gold embossing adds so much richness to a card. Combined with the vellum cardstock and gold fancy foil is a perfect match. Let’s not forget the champagne glimmer paper. Who doesn’t like a little champagne? I do!

  6. You know Justin, if you are a woman and you have a really special good male friend it’s so hard to find a card that tells them how special they are to you without it intimating a relationship other than friendship. This card handles that situation absolutely perfectly. Everything about the card points toward masculinity and the colors are absolutely stunning. Fantastic job Justin and I hope you folks on Long Island aren’t having the ice storm we are about to receive. In fact, it was foggy last night and now the driveway is a skating rink.

  7. Simply gorgeous card! I am going to miss Midnight Muse! The gold and the vellum are so perfect together with the darkness of the blue. I can’t believe you forgot to take a picture of your nephew to post for us. How about one of the whole family? Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I have to start and finish wrapping presents, my least favorite thing to do for Christmas. It’s pouring buckets of water here and it’s 60 degrees. You might get this weather in a day or so. Love ya, Nancy B

    • Thank you very much Nancy! I know, I will miss Midnight Muse too, it really is the best blue! I’m sorry that I forgot the picture, I will see him again on Christmas, I’ll get one then. I don’t care for wrapping either. It was very nice here today, we are supposed to get rain tomorrow. I hope you have a nice Sunday! Thank you for stopping by! Love ya too!! XO
