Paper Craft Crew 73 & Merry Christmas!!

Posted on

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope that you have a day planned with family and friends and that you get everything that you want for Christmas! It’s funny how your outlook on Christmas changes through the years. It used to be all about the gifts and now for me it’s about knowing that the people that are important to me are healthy and happy and that I get to spend time with the ones that I care about. Not just on Christmas but all through the year. Time is precocious and we need to remember that. Speaking of people, Andrew’s surgery went well and he is comfortably recovering at home. He read all of your comments yesterday and remarked that people can be so nice. He thanks you for keeping him your thoughts as do I. I also want to thank all of you for your visits and comments, they really brighten my days and keep me going! It may sound cheesy but your guys are the best!

Today is not only Christmas day but it’s also time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS073 Sketch 12-25-2013

Since yesterday’s card was so simple I needed a nice full one today! My card starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and a piece of Pool Party for the background. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. The strip across the middle is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler. I adhered some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the card. Two flagged pieces, one Smoky Slate and one Cherry Cobbler, sit behind a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The Festive Paper-Piercing Pack is used to pierce just the sides. My snowflake is cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. In the middle is one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The small chevrons along the bottom are cut out with the Circle Card Thinlits and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Basic Jewel Rhinestones and another piece of ribbon tied in knot complete the card. I love the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party with the Cherry Cobbler, you know me, I’m all about non-traditional! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Stop by the blog and check out the other Designer’s projects and enter yours in the gallery. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me. I wish you and all of your peeps a very Happy Christmas! 🙂

I love the card! The Cherry Cobbler paper really is a what makes this card pop! Gorgeous, stunning, and beautiful really doesn’t even begin to describe it. Yes, it is amazing how life changes as you get older. Enjoy every day! I didn’t need anything, because I already have it all. Family, friends, health, food, shelter and love. Andrew is in my prayers, and I hope he’s doing well. Have an awesome day! Take some pictures of your nephew and family to post. Be Blessed and stay safe. Hugs, Donna

  3. Merry Christmas Justin! I wish good health and happiness for you in 2014! You are so kind to share your creations with us. You provide a daily dose of inspiration. I look forward to reading your posts every day! Thank you! This card is beautiful…another great color combination and I love your attention to the details. The paper piercing is so creative by not going around the entire framelit. Never thought of that! So glad that Andrew’s surgery went well and that he is on the mend. You are right, the things that matter most are health and happiness of our loved ones. Enjoy your day and hope you are surrounded by the ones you love!
