Paper Players 177

Posted on

Well, despite the fact that it was a rainy day here my friend Heather and I ventured into Manhattan. She said that she wanted to get a coat and I haven’t been shopping in forever so I suggested that we go to Macy’s in Herald Square. If you can’t find it there chances are that you don’t need it! LOL! It is after all the world’s biggest department store. We had a nice day shopping and there were really good sales too! I got a coat, some sweaters, a sweat jacket and pants. Heather got two coats, she couldn’t decide between them! I took a few pictures, the first one is inside on the first floor. It’s where most of the holiday decoration are around Christmas.

The next one is a view down 34th Street towards Madison Square Garden.

And the last one is a selfie of us under the awing outside on 34th Street.

After we finished with our shopping we headed uptown and met my friend Kim and had some pizza before we started back home. A very nice day indeed!

After a little break the Paper Players are back! This week the challenge is to use the Chalkboard technique…

Paper Players #177

I don’t usually veer away from standard card sizes but I did today. My card starts off with a base of Soft Sky Card Stock that I cut to 7″ x 6 1/2″ and folded. I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Soft Suede on Soft Suede and used my Paper Trimmer to separate the planks, they form the frame around my chalkboard. The image is from the Perfect Couple Stamp Set and the greeting is from the Yippee-Skippee Stamp Set, they are both heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I used my sponge and some Craft Ink whiten up the black. Not too involved but really fun none the less! I love the Hardwood Stamp cut apart and used as a frame. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Thank you for visiting, have a great Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. SUPER SUPER DUPPER! That says it all. Nice pics. The selfie shows you and Heather were having fun. Baby it’s cold outside! Woke of to 16 inches of lovely white fluff. Add the wind and you get major snow drifts. Temp is -10 with wind chill -33 right now. Tomorrow is going to be the worst with -20 degrees and wind chill -45. Nobody is going anywhere at the moment. We are farmers so fortunately we have the tractors to plow out and help the neighbors out also.

    • Thanks you Lisa! Yes, we had a great time! I really am done with winter. It will be nice to go to Houston and get away from from it for a bit. Now that is cold! I would think that in the house is the only place to be! It’s good that you help each other out! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Cool, cool, cool card Justin. I love the fact that it is a different size and that you cut apart the hardwood background stamp. I honestly would have never thought to do that. It truly looks like a chalkboard so certainly fulfilled the requirements.

Heather is adorable and you guys look like you were having a great time. Thanks for sharing the photos. The thing I noticed most in the photos was the lack of snow. Oh how nice to actually see blacktop! We think it will be May before we get to see it here.

When do you leave for Leadership? I bet you are sooooooooooo excited! You will do a fantastic job I’m sure and bring your camera, we want to see photos of that.

    • Thank you Grace! I’m loving that stamp! Heather is a great person! I’m lucky to have all of the people that I have in my life! There was definitely more snow uptown, downtown is very touristy so they tend to clean it up better. I leave for Leadership Wednesday morning, fingers crossed that the flight leaves! I’ll take plenty of pictures! ๐Ÿ™‚
