Paper Craft Crew 75

Posted on

Today’s the day, kids! My post is extra early this morning because I am off to the airport. If all goes well, I’ll be in Houston before the afternoon. My awesome friend Andrew has volunteered to take me to the airport at the ungodly hour of 4:45 AM. I will certainly owe big time for this one! I’m looking forward to seeing my buddy Brian and hopefully getting to see some of you as well! Don’t fret, even though I’ll be away, I’ll still have a post going up every morning. In addition, there will be some pictures from Leadership.

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. We have a nice simple sketch for you this week…

PCCCS075 1-08-2013

My card starts off with a base of Blushing Bride Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of High Tide Designer Series Paper for the background. My stamped images are from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set. The poppy is stamped in Smoky Slate and the watercolor blotch is stamped in Blushing Bride. My greeting comes from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Banners Framelits Dies to cut it out and backed it with a piece of Blushing Bride that I trimmed myself. Behind it I tucked a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. And three Basic Jewel Rhinestones finish off the card. I like the color combination, it’s nice and soft. And the Glimmer Paper and rhinestones add just the right amount of sparkle. I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forget to stop over at the blog to see what the other designers came up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you did with the sketch! Have a happy Wednesday! Next time you read my post, it’ll be coming from Houston, Texas! 🙂

  6. While I’m not a fan of some of the patterns in High Tides DSP, the one you used worked. Looks like paint splatters which pairs nicely with the Watercolor stamp set. Good job. Have a safe fun trip. Oh yes, try and keep out of mischief. Never know what you and Brian may get into. LOL

I passed over the High Tide DSP many times and I think it’s probably the only thing I didn’t buy from the new catalog! You’ve changed my mind! 10. HI Justin:
I’m sure you will have a fabulous time at Leadership. You and Brian are certain to get into some kind of mischief. Love today’s card. The colors are fabulous and soft and that silver glimmer paper really is the magic touch for this one. I’d say you owe Andrew a gift from Houston to go with the lunch or dinner you treat him to. Getting up in the wee hours of the night to get you to the airport proves what a great friend he is. Yeah Andrew!

Very pretty card Justin. And glad to see you have made it on time and safely to Leadership. Saw the photo of you and Brian at lunch with Mary Fish. Very envious. Still ‘stuck’ in Buffalo. Scheduled to leave tomorrow afternoon. Just checked in (for the 3rd time!!) so fingers crossed that all goes well. Will be missing your presentation though… 😦 So see you on Friday, hopefully.

  13. Hi Justin,
This would make a very nice Valentines Day card. Perhaps even a birthday, Mothers Day or Get Well Soon card. Fabulously finished. The glimmer paper ties it all together. Glad you had a safe trip. Enjoy your time, have fun!
