Paper Craft Crew 76

Posted on

First day back to work… not too bad! It was nice to see my co-workers, they sort of missed me too! It rained here all day today but that’s better than snow! I had to run and see my friend Betty after work and give her some Mac tutoring, bonus, she made some delicious meatloaf for dinner. Nice comfort food for a dreary day like yesterday. 🙂

It’s Wednesday so that means that today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

PCCCS076 1-15-2014

I was going to go with the colors in the sketch because I really like them but as you will see from my card I went in the complete opposite direction! My card base is Basic Gray Card Stock and my background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. A strip of paper from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper Pack goes down the left side of the card. I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and some Whisper White for my tag. The greeting is from the See Ya Later Stamp Set** and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. For my flags I used the Banner Blast Stamp Set** inked with Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit and the Banner Punch** is used to punch them out. Three Basic Gray Candy Dots finish off the card. Lots of colors but I think they all work thanks to the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper! So there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Hop on over to the blog to see my talented co-designers take on the sketch and enter your card in the gallery for us to see! Thank you for checking in, have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

  1. WOW Justin! That was a tough sketch but you managed to get the job done. Good for you. The Birthday Basics DSP is definitely one of my favorites.

  2. Hi Justin–this is a nice card. I have to say that dsp has not been one of my favorites, but you’re making me see it in a different way. That little banner punch is awesome!! Glad you had a nice home-cooked dinner! Sounds delicious! Enjoy your Wednesday!

    • Hello Karen!
Thanks! The Designer Series Paper is not one of my favorites either but I like the way it looks with the See Ya Later Set. I love the Banner Punch and the Banner Blast Set! Dinner was great! I hope that you had a nice Wednesday! 🙂

  3. Justin I like this card a lot. I love the Birthday Basics paper, but haven’t found a way to use the birthday hats. You added just enough of it so that it’s not overwhelming. This is definitely card a want to CASE!

  4. Love the card! Took at class at Connie Babbert’s house last night (here in chilly Ohio) and she told me about chatting with you at Leadership, and she said you did a GREAT job on your presentation!! Sounds like a great event for sure. Take care!

    • Thank you Cindy! Connie is such a sweet person! I was so happy to get the chance to chat with her and I’m glad that she liked my presentation! It definitely was a great time! 🙂
