Freshly Made Sketches 119

Posted on

Guess what?! It’s FRIDAY!! My favorite day of the week!! I only had a four day week but it felt like much more! Yesterday was productive which is always a good thing. We are supposed to get snow tonight into Saturday morning. I’ll be off to Manhattan and I usually drive in but if there is snow maybe not. I think I may call my friend Kim and see what she’s up to, maybe I’ll stay by her Friday night! It’s always nice to have options! 🙂

Today my post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch from Cindy L….

Freshly Made Sketches #119

I’m loving the Sale-A-Bration Catalog this year, so much that I find myself wishing that it was in the Occasions Catalog instead! My card today starts with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set for my greeting, stamped in Basic Black right on the base. The angled background paper is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. For the flagged strip across the top half and the flowers I used the Petal Parade Stamp Set**. The strip is stamped in Pistachio Pudding with my Stamp-a-ma-jig and the flowers in Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I punched the flowers out with the 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″ Circle Punches and adhered all of the pieces to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the colors in the Designer Series Paper and the stamp set has so many fun elements in it! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. Your visits and comments make my day! Enjoy your Friday everyone! 🙂

  1. Your card today is very light and refreshing! Reminds me of an old fashion soda shop with the colors and the Sweet Sorbet DSP. The stamped pennant gives the impression of movement across the card and below the flowers! Love It!!

  2. When I looked up Delightful Dozen in the Annual Catalog on page 27, it shows a different stamp set than the one above. What stamp set is the one you used, as I really like it?

  4. Hi Justin and Happy Friday! This is a very nice card…I do love that Sweet Sorbet paper. The colors are so nice together. Great layout, I will try that sometime. Angles like that kind of scare me. 😉 Hope the snow doesn’t interfere with your weekend plans too much. I, for one, am ready for Spring!! Have a great day!

    • Hello Karen, happy Friday to you too!
The colors in the DSP are great! LOL! I actually am liking the skewed look a lot more lately! I hope the snow doesn’t come at all! I’m with you, come on spring! Enjoy your day too! 🙂

  5. I agree with Beth – the angled paper truly does give the impression of movement. It’s nice to see a design set up that is truly different from the usual. Nice colors, soft and inviting. Love it. Oh, by the way Justin – could you please keep the snow in Manhattan, we’ve had our share for the winter already!

  6. Beautiful card…. love the sentiment! And like Grace, I agree, please keep the snow. It has had enough impact on my life lately (missing Leadership….) LOL. As I say that and look outside, it is snowing here, very lightly but enough to stick on the cars ;-( Have a super weekend.

  7. Love what you did with the different layout…the colors evoke what we all need right now — a touch of spring weather. Do you have off from work on Monday for another 4 day work week and a 3 day weekend to look forward to enjoying in spite of snow? Have a great time! Nancy B
