Happy 95th Birthday!

Posted on

Yesterday didn’t go as slowly as I would have liked! LOL! I did have a nice day. I spoke to Mr. King in the morning and did some crafting. After that I ran some errands and got my haircut and had lunch with a friend. I had a few hours to kill before I headed out to my work party so I did some research for a project. It started snowing here around 4:00, just enough so I had to clean the car off! I stopped and picked up Danielle and the drive was a little slippery but we made it. The party was fun and I do enjoy the people that I work with. I got home around 11:30 and puttered around the house for bit before turning in for the night. How was your day, do anything fun or exciting?!

My card today is for my Grandmother who lives in Pennsylvania. She is turing 95 on January 30th! I hope I make it that age and be in as good a shape as she is! She loves flowers so I had to put some on the card. The card base is Pear Pizzaz Card Stock and my background is a piece of Soft Sky that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Soft Sky. A piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper goes down the left side. I stamped the flower from the Peaceful Petals Stamp Set in Basic Black and colored the flowers in with Soft Sky, So Saffron and Pear Pizzaz Stampin’ Write Markers. The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch was used to create my tag and I rounded the bottom corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. A piece of Pear Pizzaz 3/8″ Seam Binding Ribbon tied with some White Bakers Twine completes the tag. My greeting is from the Simply Sketched Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the tag and the greeting to the card. Not overly complicated but I love the way the flowers look colored in! Thanks for dropping by to see my card for today and I hope you have a fun Sunday! 🙂

  1. I really like this card Justin. The tag with the flowers are beautiful. Love the wood grain stamp, not using wood colors. Happy Birthday to your Grandmother, too. 🙂

  2. Justin you grandmother will simply adore this. I do! The woodgrain background in Sky Blue is perfect. Also the flowers fit so nicely on the tag. My grandmothers lived to be 99 and 107. Very Happy Birthday wishes and good health to your grandmother. Too bad she isn’t closer to you.

  5. Your Grandmother is going to love this card Justin. I hope her birthday is filled with happiness and that her family surrounds her with lots of flowers. Of all the cards she most likely will receive I”m sure yours will be her favorite. We Grandmothers love anything hand made because the most precious gift of all is time and it takes time to make a gift.

I’m sure Grandma will love a card made by her wonderful grandson. I like the softness of the card, especially the strip of DSP. I hope your Sunday drags on and on! Enjoy! Nancy B

  9. My favorite colors together, love the wood grain, and how you tied the twine around the ribbon. Hmm, I think I’ll try that! HBTY from the frozen tundra of Indiana, Grandma! Does she know how famous you are, Justin?
