Well, we had a little reprieve from the cold today, it got up to 38! That’s warm for us as of late, sad huh?!?! I know that most of the rest of the country is experiencing the same thing as we are here in NY. This has definitely been the worst winter we have had in a long time. Let’s hope that spring gets here quick and that the summer makes up for all of the cold we have had. My day today was quiet, work was calm and I came home and crafted for a bit and then watched a movie. nothing special, just needed to get lost for a little while. I find that if I have a lot on my mind watching something clears it for bit. I also forgot to ask yesterday who watched the Grammy’s? I thought that the best performance of the night was P!nk, that song try is one of my all time favorites! Who did you think was the best?

Today my post is for the SUO Challenges blog. This time around we ask you to create a one layer card! I do love to make them, though they can be a little challenging, I’m more of a layers person myself! My card is a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. All of the stamps are from the Follow My Heart Stamp Set except for the “string” the banners are hung from, that is from the “Vintage” Little Additions Stamp Set. The banners and greeting are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the Eiffel Tower in Soft Suede. Oh, I told a fib, the little Cherry Cobbler Heart is from the Countless Sayings 1 Photopolymer Stamp Set. Neat how it fits right inside the Eiffel Tower! My trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig helped me line everything up perfectly! A simple but fun one layer card. I hope that you enjoyed my post for the SUO Challenges blog. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and see what the other design team members have for inspiration for you and then enter your card in the gallery for us to see! Thank you so much for dropping by, have a great day! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin! Hello from the frozen state of WI. Ugh…the actual temp is 14 below right now with wind chills even worse than that! This is a beautiful, one layer card. Those are hard for me to do! I did watch the Grammy’s the other night and was AMAZED at Pink’s performance! Some of the performers I’d never heard of before so I guess I’m officially old! 🙂 Enjoy your day and stay warm!

    • Hello Karen!
We are frozen here too! More snow tonight into tomorrow. I think that our high today was 18! I’m happy you like the card. It’s a great stamp set. Yeah! Yes, P!nk was amazing, she always is! LOL! I don’t know all of them anymore either. I hope that you had a nice day and are keeping warm yourself! 🙂

  3. One layer cards are so difficult for me. I always want dimension of one type or another. You did a terrific job with this one Justin. It looks quick, easy and perfect.

  4. We We……Oooooo La La! I love it! Justin you make it look so simple. Great job. I did not watch the Grammy’s. Not a awards show kind of girl. I get bored. Glad you enjoyed it though. Got down to -18 last night and isn’t to get above zero today here in Ohio. In some parts of Alaska it is actually warmer. I am so ready to be rid of this frozen tundra!

    • Thank you Lisa! This card was pretty simple. I always watch the Grammy’s on the DVR that way I can skip what I don’t want to see! I feel like I live in Alaska actually! I’m with you! Bring on Spring! 🙂

  5. With all our fancy and fun tools, we tend to forget the simple one layer card. Thanks for reminding us!
Love the new Texture Boutique Embossing Machine. Just the thing for customers with limited amounts to spend but still want the fun of “Texturing”.
Not nice of you to send the cold weather all the way down here. They say northern Florida should expect ice and snow tomorrow. Bummer. Fortunately we live below the storm line, but you can never be too sure. We left Michigan to get away from all this nonsense! 😉

    • Welcome Carol! And thanks! I do like my fun and fancy tool though! LOL! I agree, Embossing Folders are an inexpensive way to add a little wow to your project and at $70 less than the Big Shot, pretty good! I wish I was in Key West right about now! I’m so done with winter! It’s so cold here!!

  6. Hi Justin,
I wanted to send you an email sooner to let you know that your work is always inspiring to me. However, I was hit by a car while walking in the parking lot to go to work. I’ve been on percocet and am in a lot of pain. Nothing is broken, but my legs are severely bruised. I can barely walk. I’m fine, no need to be upset, could’ve been worse. Everything happens for a reason and I am almost certain that I know what it is. Anyway, I just love the cards and as usual great job.
Take care and thanks for sharing. 🙂 Donna

    • Hi Donna,
Oh no! That’s terrible! I was wondering where you were. I’m glad that you are not too bad? I agree with you about the everything happens for a reason but that is a little extreme. Keep me posted on your recovery. Hugs!
