Paper Craft Crew 78

Posted on

Yeah, Wednesday! Halfway through! I know, I keep wishing my weeks away in flavor of the weekend. But I really do enjoy my weekends! It’s nice and crisp here and I woke to about another inch of snow. No more complaining, just patiently waiting for winter to finish. Work yesterday was really busy, we have a job fair on Friday and when is the best time to start doing everything of it you might ask… well that would be three days prior. Sadly that’s actually a lot of notice for my place. On a happy note my friend Danielle is coming over tonight and we are going to have some diner and she is going to make her boyfriend a Valentine’s card! It will be her first one! If she lets me I’ll share it with you tomorrow! 🙂

It being Wednesday and all means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week we have the following for you to work with…

PCCCS078 1-29-2014

I stayed pretty true to the layout but I also changed things up a bit. The base of my card is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock and the background is a piece of Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper. I cut out a piece of So Saffron with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and I used the Peachy Keen Stamp Set to stamp the squares in So Saffron. The tag looked a little naked without it! My little shoes and brand new are from the Baby, We’ve Grown Stamp Set, the shoes are stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips and the brand new in Tangerine Tango and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies. I flagged both ends of a piece of Coastal Cabana and stamped the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. Stampin’ Dimensionals help give it a little oomph! So there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. I hope that you enjoyed it and don’t forget to check out the blog and see what my clever team-mates have for you for inspiration. Enter your’s in the gallery and you might be picked to be a Featured Artisan! Thanks so much for checking in, have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  2. Happy Hump Day!
I agree with your thoughts on the stamped texture on the Chalk Talk tag, it really adds so much and mimics the squares in the DSP! The little blue shoes are adorable!!! So many more “must haves” added to my list. Have a wonderful Job Fair Event on Friday and a enjoyable evening creating with Danielle.

    • Happy Hump Day to you too Beth!
I don’t know why but I always feel like card stock needs some kind of something! Yes, they do mimic the squares! I have way too many must have as you can see! I’m sure this evening will be fun! I hope you have a nice day! 😉

  5. Hi Justin – What a Fab card. So unique compared to what you see in the card shops. The little booties are just adorable and any new mother would absolutely love to receive this card. Hope Danielle allows you to share her card tomorrow. I’m sure with you as the adviser it will be great!

  6. Fun card ! And I love this particular pattern from that series .I made a bunch of cards last week using it . As I was reading your description I couldn`t see the card and for some reason I thought somebody had some “Brand New Shoes ” and I thought how unusual to send a card for that ! LOL ! Have fun tonight !!

  7. Cute card and very different than the usual ones found in stores. Love how you stamped the Chalk Talk label…. good match with the DSP.
Frigid here but apparently it might “warm” up a little by tomorrow. It’s actually starting to snow, just in time for rush hour…. Enjoy your evening.

    • Thank you Louise! I’m definitely not a fan of store cards! LOL! I do love when a stamp matches the DSP! It’s very chilly here too, they say maybe 38 by the weekend! It’s a heatwave! LOL!

  8. Great color combinations! Now I will have to order the Retro Fresh DSP and new stamp sets! I love the way you used the image from Peachy Keen on the tag to mirror the DSP. So much for not getting everything in the catalog! 😉
