Oh, I think I forget to tell you it was snowing yesterday morning when I got up. The best part, it snowed all day. We got about eight inches and we are supposed to get some more tomorrow night and then again over the weekend. I guess the winter isn’t finished just yet. Yesterday’s snow was the heavy wet kind, if I have to deal with snow I would rather the powdery kind. I have so much experience with it this year! Who knew there were so many choices?! LOL! I will say one thing for snow, we did get out of work early again today! You know it’s bad when I would rather be at work than deal with the snow! Here is a little picture I took last night, that’s a lot of snow!

Snow Bench

Now on to the fun stuff! Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

Mojo331

When I saw the sketch I saw the opportunity for a little collage style! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the first layer of the background I used a piece of Real Red. My banner is a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack that I cut out with the Banners Framelits Dies. I also cut out a piece of Whisper White to back it with so it would be a little sturdier when I adhered it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I slid a piece of Red Glimmer Paper behind it on an angle. My piece of Crumb Cake is stamped with one of the Paper Pumpkin stamps in Crumb Cake and then I rounded the corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits Dies. Another piece of Red Glimmer Paper is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. My two little speech bubbles are from last month’s Paper Pumpkin and are stamped in Real Red and Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips. Are you impressed that I remembered to use Coastal Cabana?! LOL! I really like the subtle collage and the colors, well we know I’m liking those! There it is, my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I hope that you enjoyed it and thanks for paying me a visit! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Good morning Justin!
Love it! I really, really like these colors together. Awesome job!
We got a lot of snow here as well, maybe 10 to 12 in. I’d say. Could even be more, I didn’t go out in this mess. I’m so finished with the snow, already. It’s like go away til the end of the year. Like you said short workday. Anyway, stay safe and have a nice day! 🙂 Donna

    • Hello Donna!
Thank you! Yes, I’m loving the colors together too! I am really over the winter all together! I would prefer to never experience winter again! LOL! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

      • Hey Justin,
        UPDATE:
I had a very, very painful day. I couldn’t sleep, walk, sit, stand, or even lay. Excruciating pain, I tell you. I found out this afternoon, that I have a left broken shin. Surgery? Maybe. More xrays next week. Along with the sprained left ankle and shoulder. Deep left ankle wound (cut). Contusions everywhere. Huge right knee injury, I’m just a mess. But I have a lot of faith in God and people who are praying for and with me. I’ll be back in the swing of things soon. I just need to give myself time to heal. Keep me in your thoughts. 🙂 Donna
PS, be careful tomorrow, I hear we’re to have a doosy of a storm!

      • Hello Donna!
Im so sorry to hear that you are in such bad shape. A broken shin!! Ouch! That coupled with everything else that you have must be really uncomfortable. You are definitely in my thoughts. I appreciate the update! Yes, I will be careful, you too! 🙂

  2. Super neat card Justin! I would not think to use crumb cake on a Valentine’s card and yet you make it work perfectly! Of course for me the glimmer paper is what makes the card so terrific. Just enough glimmer to really pull you in but not enough to overpower the rest of the card – I just love it.

The hubs hates the heavy wet snow too. Even the snow blower doesn’t like it. Yesterdays storm never made it to Maine. It kind of got to the Cape and hung a right. However, we are due for a good sized storm on Wednesday so we won’t walk away totally unscathed. Snow days are great days for stamping.

    • Thank you Grace! Crumb Cake is one of my favorite neutrals next to Sahara Sand! I thought that you might like the glimmer paper! 🙂

I hate snow all together! I’m glad that it missed you! We are to have more tonight! I do like the getting out of work early, it does give one more time to stamp! 🙂

  4. Wow, Justin! You did a great job of that challenge. I took one look at all the elements of the sketch and decided to pass, but your card is GREAT! About the snow … that heavy wet snow was something I always thought was a signal that spring was right around the corner. I used to live in Colorado, and those snows were the worst! So, I think Phil is wrong about that 6 more weeks of winter thing.

    • Thank you Celia! I looked at the sketch and thought ooh, collage! LOL! I hope that you are right about the heavy wet snow!! That would make it worth it! Let’s all hope that Phil was wrong!! 🙂

  5. Hello Justin! I love this card! The colors are wonderful. I love that Fresh Print dsp paper stack! I think I need to order some more! And the way you’ve layered the bubble framelits is sooo cute! They are forecasting snow for us later today, a few inches anyhow. We seem to be in this cycle of snow, super cold weather, it warms up a bit (if you can call in the teens warm!) and then we start all over again. How many days til Spring?? Stay safe and have a great day!

    • Hi Karen!
Thank you very much! I made sure that I got an extra stack, I have used a lot of it! I think we are supposed to get between 1-3 inches. There are too many days until spring! I hope that you had a lovely day! 🙂

  6. Hey, you used the Coastal Cabana! The diagonal strip of Red Glimmer fits perfectly. Love it! You have once again opened my eyes to Just Saying, even if I don’t spring for the matching framelits. Only one has the scalloped edges to fussy cut.
We had about 5 inches of snow that my husband plowed and the sun did a great job of melting. Unfortunately, his rear tractor tire ($600) blew out when the tractor was parked in the garage. Weird. He is working on getting a tire replacement and you can see what I am doing! Bad wife! I can’t help him with this. More snow, freezing rain, etc. on the way again…stay safe and warm and creating. • LOL! I know Nancy! Finally! LOL! Yes, the stamp set is fun and the Framelits just make it easier!

A lot of the snow on the main roads is gone here but the side streets are still a bit messy. That’s an expensive tire! Not a bad wife! You are being productive! LOL! More for us too! Have a safe and warm evening! 🙂

  8. You can never go wrong with Crumb Cake. Everything goes with it. Just my personal opinion. Another fun card with FP DSP. This is a total complete card package. Like the small narrow flagged banner tucked in behind. Getting ready for yet another winter storm (in Ohio) starting this afternoon. Expecting 10 inches and blowing winds. Isn’t a big deal anymore since this seems to be our typical winter snow fall this year. So brace yourself it’s coming your way.

  10. Love how you mixed in some Paper Pumpkin stamped images! The texture and the little heart speech bubbles add so much, especially the one on the glitter heart! I guess I have only until the tenth to decide on signing up for the Paper Pumpkin deal!

Snow, Snow, GO AWAY! And DON’T come back any day!! Even the groundhog added six more weeks of winter!

Crumb Cake is one of the best neutrals EVER!!! And the Fresh Prints paper stack is my favorite DSP from the Occasions catty!!! 😉 I am going to echo all the affirmations on this lovely card Justin, especially with your use of the Paper Pumpkin stamps!!! 🙂 Your rounded CC diagonally striped rectangle really sets the whole card off in such a great way!!!
We may get a foot of snow in New England tomorrow & even MORE by Monday??!! Yikes!! 😦
