Freshly Made Sketches 124

Posted on

Yeah! It’s Friday!! Work was insanely busy yesterday and that more than made up for Tuesday! LOL! It was actually a very nice day here yesterday. We got up to 50 degrees!! Woo hoo! It rained last night and is supposed to rain some more today but I’ll take the rain over snow! I had a nice quiet evening at home last night. I crafted for a bit and then watch Elysium. Pretty good movie. What’s on for the weekend?!

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Karren…

Freshly Made Sketches #124

Fun and simple so I kept my card the same! My card base is a piece of Pool Party Card Stock and the background some So Saffron. I stamped the Filmstrip Stamp in Basic Gray for my three panels and a strip of Calypso Coral goes across the lower half. Some Silver Foil Sheet is cut out with the On Film Framelits Dies and is adhered with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit and is stamped in Basic Gray right on the So Saffron panel. Like I said a very simple but fun card. We need those every once in a while, right?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I always appreciate your stopping by and I hope that you all have an amazing Friday! 🙂

  1. Thought this looked like a fun stamp to have. Bought it but haven’t used it yet. Shame on me. I like the way you used it and incorporated the camera also. Wouldn’t it be fun if you had some actual photos small enough to insert into the frames. Fun card.

  3. Hi Justin and TGIF!! It took a long time to get here, didn’t it? 😉 Great card…I didn’t recognize the sentiment you used at first. I think I have to put that kit on my list. I think that little camera is so cute! Have a great Friday and hope you have a little more breathing room today at work than you did yesterday.

    • Hi Karen!
Yes, TGIF!! It sure seems like it did take a long time to get here, but it always does! LOL! Thank you! The On Film Framelits are great! I use the elements in them a lot. I hope that you have a great Friday too! My job is usually crazy busy so it was just odd to have a slow day in Tuesday! 🙂

  4. The film strips work perfect as panels! I too could envision tiny pictures in them. That silver camera is adorable!! Glad you are having warmer weather!! Maine is in for a mixed bag today , but hopefully it will melt away some of the large snow banks! Have a relaxing weekend!!

    • Thank you Beth! Yes, i will have to do something with tiny pictures! I love the way the camera looks cut out from the Foil Sheets! The snow is melting very slowly here, I think we will have traces well into the spring! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  6. Very cool card! Love the filmstrip panels. I’m waiting for the movie to begin now. We are grilling steaks tonight! The rivers seem to be having a hard time containing all the rain water. You aren’t in any danger of flooding, are you? The wind here is ferocious. Have a great weekend! Nancy B

    • Thanks Nancy! The Filmstrip is such a great stamp! LOL! I think it;s because of the movie I watch that it put that stamp in my head! Mmmm… grilled steaks, sounds delich! We are having some issues with flooding because the snow is finally melting! It rained and was very foggy today, but better than snow! You have a great weekend and enjoy your dinner! 🙂

  7. The camera in foil is the eye catcher of this card. You can downsize regular photos to fit in the film strips using PhotoSuite or just about any photo program. The problem is when you make them small enough to fit into the film strip area you can’t tell what they are. Great card Justin. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

    • Thank you Grace! I do love that camera cut out of the Foil Sheets! I definitely will put some pictures in there next time. I will have to be very selective with my shots! LOL! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend too! 🙂

  8. Great card Justin. And on my craft room is something so so very similar for the same sketch…. I’ll have to make some changes LOL I was using a very different sentiment though but when I saw the sketch it’s the first stamp set I pulled out and I have a punch (non-SU) for the film strips too…. Lots of snow, then snow pellets and freezing rain last night, then heavy rain with even thunder!!! Today warmer, gray and dull and very windy. Calling Spring….. please come early!

    • Thanks Louise! LOL! I think that the Filmstrip crept into a lot of peoples minds! I didn’t think of a punch, I will have to try that next time! We had some thunder today too! I’ll take warmer and gray over snow any day!! Hello Spring, come here now! 🙂
