Pals Paper Arts 195

Posted on

I had a nice Saturday and hope that you did too! I watched the munchkins in the morning for a little bit while Kim went to kickboxing. Isabella and Savannah are two of the most well behaved little girls. Izzy loves to color and play on her iPad and Savannah is content to sit in her bed and watch Frozen and bounce on her pillow. I hung out with Kim for a bit when she got back and we watched Zedd’s iTunes SXSW performance. I do love all kinds of music and his EDM (Electronic Dance Music) is great! After I went and got a much needed haircut, came home and crafted for a bit and then went over to my friend Louis’ parents house to see his sister and her two little boys. We had some pizza for dinner and I came home and started on my organization plan. A busy but great day! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for a bit, it’s supposed to be in the 30’s so I should be able to wander for a bit. 🙂

For my post today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge and this time it’s a color challenge…

PPA 195

Some nice Spring colors need some butterflies don’t you think?! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set in Rose Red right on the base. A piece of Wild Wasabi is cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and some of the bottom is trimmed off. The So Saffron hexagons in the hive are created with my Stamp-a-ma-jig and the Geometrical Stamp Set. Three tickets from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set are stamped in Rose Red on So Saffron and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and a mini staple holds them together. My butterflies are stamped with one of the stamps from a Paper Pumpkin Set in Rose Red on Rose Red and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. Three Basic Jewels Pearls make the bodies and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. A nice simple spring card, lets hope that it hurries the warmer weather along! And there it is, my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

  2. What a beautiful way to welcome Spring (hopefully) later this week! The bumped up hexagons add that extra dimension for the butterflies to land on! Love my Hexagon Hive die, will have try a cut-away soon. Have a wonderful day in Manhattan!

  3. Super Duper happy day card for sure Justin. I love the way you cut the hex die to create a “hive”. I don’t have the hex stamp that came in the Paper Pumpkin but it is absolutely perfect for those butterflies on this card. In fact, everything about the card is perfect.

Kim is lucky to have a friend to sit with the little ones so she can get out for a while. Better be nice to her or she may want to practice some of her kickboxing moves on you. LOL Enjoy your day in Manhattan, I’m sure it will be fun.

    • Yeah! Thank you Grace! I love that die and the stamp coordinates great! Love the Paper Pumpkin! Kim is a great person and a wonderful mom. She takes card of her brother too, he is Autistic. She has a lot on her plate and if I can do a little something to make her day easier I’m there! LOL! You should see her hand, she was a little angry when she went and it’s all black and blue. I wouldn’t mess with her! LOL! Enjoy your Sunday my friend! 🙂

    • Hello Karen!
I really do like that Hexagon die and the chopping off of the piece was sort of neat! Butterflies are my mum’s favorite! I do try and make the most of the weekends, I did have a nice day. Sometimes I’m too good of a friend! LOL! The kids were great though. I have pictures, I braved the cold! LOL! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

WOW! Absolutely Amazing! I love it, love everything about the card! Your creations never bore me, there’s always something that pops out! Just gorgeous!
I actually went outside yesterday to get the mail, and boy was it beautiful. High 60’s, a little windy, but after being on the couch for 5 weeks, the air felt great!
Well Justin, enjoyed chatting with you. Have a great rest of the evening. Take care and keep smiling! 🙂 Donna
