Paper Craft Crew 86

Posted on

So we are less than a week into spring and we got some snow last night. Excuse me, Mother Nature, I think you’re a little confused. Spring is supposed to be flowers and warmer weather, not freezing cold and snow. Let’s get it together! I’ll give you until next week to get this whole thing straightened out. Thanks! LOL! At work yesterday I found myself on a 14 foot ladder putting signs up around the office. There really is no limit to what they’ll have me do there. Last night Andrew stopped by and threatened to make a card again. Stay tuned to see what happens! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog with this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS086 3-26-2014

I made another Easter card, I figured it would be good to get some use out the stamp set before the holiday has passed! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The background is a piece of Island Indigo on the left and some Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper on the right. For the panel in the middle, I used a piece of Gumball Green backed with some Smoky Slate to serve as a base for my three eggs from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango. I cheated a little and used the Extra Large Oval Punch to cut out the eggs. Five banners, punched out with the Banner Punch from Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Island Indigo, are adhered underneath the panel which is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little sheep and greeting are also from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and are stamped in Smoky Slate; the sheep is cut out with my Paper Snips and the greeting with the Word Bubbles Framelits. That Watercolor Wonder DSP works pretty well with everything, don’t you think?! So there is my Easter card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team members have for you as inspiration and don’t forget to post your card in the gallery so we can see your spin on the sketch! Thanks as always for stopping by today! I hope you have a fun-filled hump day!

  1. Hi Justin! Cute card…that little lamb is cute, isn’t she? Great layout and the way you stamped the bunny using the bubbles framelits is pretty clever! It’s been a long, cold winter hasn’t it? We had lost most of our snow over the weekend but we had a little more yesterday so the grass is covered up again. Ugh. Tell Andrew we are all looking forward to seeing his next creation! Have a great Wednesday!

    • Hello Karen!
Thank you! Yes, the lamb is a cutie! I do like those Word Bubbles, I try to find things that fit inside them! Thankfully we only got a dusting of the white stuff. I will tell Andrew, although you would that that he would take the time to read the comments! LOL! I hope you are having a good Wednesday! 🙂

  2. Adorable card! You blended so many of my favorite products; Watercolor DSP, word framelits and the Eggstra Spectacular stamps! On another note, I think Spring is scheduled to arrive here in another 5 and a half weeks thanks to the ground hog!! Right now we are in the beginning stages of a major blizzard in Downeast Maine. Enjoy your bare ground!!!

  3. Hi Justin. We are supposed to get a few inches of snow today also and the wind is really howling here today. Perfect day to see a colorful, cute Easter card for sure. We are pretty tired of cloudy skies and dreary days. So, it’s a good day to see all the pretty colors that we can to brighten it up. I really like the way you put the hoppy Easter bunny into the word bubble, very clever. Tell Andrew we are all waiting to see his next creation. Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday and stay off the dang high ladders! LOL

    • Hello Grace!
It was very windy here today but we only got a dusting of snow thankfully! I too am tired of the dreary, cold and very long Winter. I’m happy that you enjoyed my bright card! Andrew has been told, a few times actually. I did manage to stay off the ladder and my day was pretty good as I hope that yours was! 🙂

  4. Hey Justin. I think you tied your comment about jelly beans yesterday in today’s card. The DSP looks like a whole bag of them. Like the balance of the whole card.
