Ahhh… now that was a very relaxing weekend! I haven’t had one of those in years! LOL! I won’t lie, I still prefer to be busy but it was kind of nice to get to use the big TV that I had to have a few years ago. Yesterday was pretty quiet. Sunday’s are nice because Heather and I have lunch and then run around doing errands for a bit and then just chat. I came home after that and did some more craft things and then yes, watched some TV! I hope that all of you had a relaxing weekend too! (The bonus is at the end of the post!)
It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Nance. Remember the time that I did the whole board?! I was tempted but I behaved! So here are our choices…
I went with the center row down, Any Punch or Die, Patterned Paper and Candy or Enamel Dots. Taylor brought me home some enamel dots a while ago from Michaels and they actually match our colors pretty well so I used some of those. My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper backed with some more Whisper White and adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I took another piece of Whisper White and used my “Vintage” Spiral Punch and the Perforating Stampjn’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade to make my notebook pear. Up in the corner are some leaves from the Peaceful Petals Stamp Set stamped in Pear Pizzaz and colored in my Blender Pen. The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. For my greeting I used the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the notebook page. The clip is form the Hardware Clips Essential and holds my notebook paper to the base. Some enamel dots are randomly placed to complete the card. I really like those enamel dots, they are neat and the colors really do match ours pretty well. So there is my card for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Nance and the Paper Players. I hope you enjoyed it and that you have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

I MUST CASE your bonus card! That was the first set in SAB that I got because I have sung that song to my girls since they were born. That is just the perfect, perfect card for either of them when they are in one of their famous pre-teen funks! Love it!
Yeah! Thank you Chellie! I’m happy you like the card! I love when there is a story to go along with it too! 🙂
Love both your cards, Justin! I love the spiral punch panel and beautiful DSP on your Paper Players card.Great job on the tic-tac-toe challenge. The layout on your second card is awesome! Have a great day! (((hugs)))
Thank you Sandy! The Spiral Punch is my favorite! I hope that you have a wonderful day! XOXO
Hi Justin and Happy Monday!! Such nice cards…both of them!! Love that first one for the layout and the colors. Very nice! Wish I had that “vinatage” spiral punch! And the color of the enamel dots look pretty good too! Way to go Taylor! Your bonus card is awesome! Love that you used the starburst framelit to frame your circle. Wonderful!! Thanks for sharing your double-dose of awesome today!!
Hello Karen!
Happy Monday to you too! Thank you! I do love that punch! Taylor is funny bringing the enamel dots home! Have a wonderful day! 🙂
Great cards! The colors you used together on both look beautiful together. What did you use to make the clouds? -Kristal
Thank you Kristal! I used the Word Bubbles Framelits for the clouds! 🙂
Oooh that is good to know because I just ordered those framelits! Now I know I can make clouds!! Thanks!
Welcome Kristal! 🙂
You are right Justin – the colors do match perfectly! I think using both the Coastal Cabana and the Summer Starfruit together just screams spring and, since we got freezing rain all night last night and the roads – well I don’t want to drive on them – are horrible, it’s great to have such a super card to look at. Give me a bit of hope that better weather will be forthcoming. I love that the colors accented instead of taking over both cards. Very inspiring.
Thanks Grace! They do look pretty close don’t they?! We had snow this morning! I thought we were done! I keep making the brighter cards in the hope that it will speed up the ascent in temperatures! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂
Love your cards (and not just those shown today) and love your blog. You have a great sense of style and colour. Your creations are always a great inspiration. The first card today is a favourite. Great details (perforation on the “note paper”, hardware clip, candy dots).
Thank you so much Doris! I appreciate you letting me know! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂
Hi Justin, I love both cards, as usual, but I seriously love the candy dots in the first card….hint, hint SU!!! Your week is off to a great start….I think you need more of those relaxing weekends! LOL!
Thank you Melanie! Yes, the enamel dots are fun (oh Stampin’ Up!) LOL! It was nice to be so crafty this weekend! 🙂
Fun cards, as always, Justin! I love the pops of color off the gray background. Love the notebook punch and the paperclip are such fun accents along with those yummy candy dots. Your bonus card is such a ray of sunshine, too. Love it! Thank you so much for joining us this week at the Paper Players! 🙂
Thank you Anne Marie! The notebook punch is definitely my favorite and the enamel dots are fun! Glad you enjoyed the bonus too! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Wow! There are so many awesome details on this card, Justin! From the butterflies to the clip, I love it all. I, too, kept the “vintage” spiral punch. It is one of my faves. Thanks for playing with The Paper Players this week.
Thank you Ann! Yeah, love that punch! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
