SUO Challenges 94

Posted on

I do try every week but I’m just not a fan of Monday’s. It started out as a nice sunny day but by 10:00am it was overcast and a little chilly. Work was busy in the morning and then we had a forum at the Carlyle. I did the A/V set up and of course the place didn’t have their sound set up correctly. Never a dull moment! LOL! After work was much better, dinner then card class and Andrew stopped by after. The end of the day was much better than the start, that’s for sure!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog and this time around our theme is Easter…

I have done a couple of Easter projects recently and I wanted this one to be simple but fun. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock and the background is a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper backed by a piece of Tangerine Tango. I took one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies and sponged it with some Gumball Green and adhered it to the background, cutting a piece of the left side off. The tag is a piece of Whisper White that I punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. Across the bottom I used my Fringe Scissors and some Gumball Green to make some “grass”. My greeting comes from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and is stamped on the tag in Basic Black. A piece of Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon goes through the top and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. Like I said, simple but fun! I really like the sponged doily, it creates a nice break between the tag and the DSP. So there you have my Design Team card for the SUO Challenges Easter theme. Take some time to pay a visit to the blog and see what the other talented designers have for your inspiration and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your Easter card! Thanks as always for stopping by today, have a terrific Tuesday!

Great card Justin, perfect to get my Easter cards going. The colors are very nice. I don’t see Daffodil Delight used enough and I love this color. Did you hear that thunder? 🙂

I want that stamp set just for that little bunny ! He is so so cute ! I like Daffodil Delight a lot ,but don`t use it much . I think it is a true happy yellow without too much orange tone .
    Cute card !

  4. I can’t believe it Justin – that is the same DSP I used when I made my Easter cards this year (I’ve mailed them already)! Isn’t it just beautiful? AND, turning the fringe side upside down to make grass? Never even occurred to me. This card is bright, happy and what an Easter card should be – joyous. Fabulous job Justin, love it!

  5. Very cool and Spring-inspired card (looking at the snow falling outside!?! even the robins are confused around here!). How did you attach the grass? is that sewing I see there? Every time I see that cute little rabbit I want to put that stamp sets on my next order…. LOL
(P.S. my little project for SUO#93 was Top 3).

    • Thank you Louise! Can’t believe it’s snowing by you! I have yet to sew on a card, soon I think. No, just some Sticky Strip. The little rabbit is pretty cute! Congrats on being a top three on SUO! Go you! 🙂

  6. Reading your description before even seeing the card made me feel uplifted. Then seeing your card was icing on the cake! This card is such a WOW. I love the color on the doily along with all the other happy colors. I just adore the little bunny too. Great fringe grass — two layers. The card feels like a refreshing glass of iced cold sugar free orange flavored water. Good job! It seems that your Monday attitude is getting better! You can think of Mondays as just another day toward a weekend! Enjoy the week!! Nancy B

Thank you! Yes, the bunny is really cute! I hadn’t thought to sponge the doily either, I thought it would tear but it was fine. Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂
