Paper Craft Crew 88

Posted on

Monday seems just a distant memory now that we are at Wednesday! LOL! We finished moving at work today. That was definitely more fun than any one person should ever have in one day! NOT! Did I mention that my new office has a glass wall? I feel like Im’ in a fish tank! I’m going to see if I can find some fish window clings to put on the glass! Enough whining about work, it was rainy this morning but the sun cam out in the afternoon and it went up into the 60’s! I got to go outside without a jacket! Pure bliss I tell you! Andrew stopped by after work and we did some more business cards. They will be in Boston this weekend for the BOSS event. They were even asked to perform! Wish them luck!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge. This week’s sketch has a tag, we know how I love those…

I strayed from the sketch ever so slightly, just with the sentiment. The base of the my card is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake Ink. My two strips of Designer Series Paper and the butterfly are from the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper Pack. For my tag I used a piece of Calypso Coral that I stamped with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp in Calypso Coral and punched it out with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is from the Chalk Talk stamp set and is stamped in Gumball Green and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it at an angle on to the tag. The flower is from the Petite Petals Stamp Set and is stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch and adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The butterfly is punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot as well. Some Basic Jewels Pearls in the middle of the flower and the butterfly along with a piece Linen Thread through the top of the tag complete the card. It’s been a while since I used the Epic Day This and That DSP. I forgot how much I like the colors and the distressed look of the paper. Take a minute to pop on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery too so we can see how you interpreted the sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by for my mid-week post! I hope you have a very happy Hump Day! 🙂

Good Morning . . . like what you did with this sketch. Love the choice of DSP and the bold color of the punch. 🙂

  2. I love this, Justin! The bright chevron tag looks fabulous against that crumb cake background. And the book print goes so well with the dsp. I don’t think I’d ever tire of This and That Epic Day dsp.

  4. For me the tag is the show stopper. Of course I like the whole card as well. Great job! Oh my, glass partition wall! Definitely a fish tank or shark tank. Yes, you must get yourself some underwater vinyl clings! What a hoot! We have mid 60’s with sun and no wind today in Ohio. Ahhhhhhhhh

    • Thank you very much Lisa! Yes, I can’t stand the glass, everyone walking by makes some comment. I do think the vynil clings will be fun if I can find them! LOL! It’s the perfect seater right?!?!
