Well, I had a pretty relaxing Sunday. I got up this morning and started working on my projects that i needed to get finished. I had a lot to do today so an early start was good. I stopped for a bit to do my laundry and the continued before taking a break in the afternoon to watch two movies. I really do enjoy my TV time, and to think that I gave it up all together for almost three years! It’s a nice way for my brain to have some quiet time. I have a lot going on at the moment and I really need it! How was your weekend? Good I hope!
It’s Monday and that means that it’s time once again for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week Ann has given us a CAS floral theme…
I got the idea for the layout of this card from Pinterest. I also got to use one of my favorite punches! My card base is a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. On the left side is a piece of Moonlight Designer Series Paper*. I stamped my image from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black*. The stem of the flower is colored in with my Mossy Meadow* Stampin’ Write Marker. For the flowers I used my Blender Pen and Blackberry Bliss*. I also stamped the image from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set in the same color. Down the left side I used the Spiral Border Punch*, which will be back from retirement in the new catalog! Woo hoo! Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the panel to the card. There you have my card for this week’s CAS floral challenge from Ann for the Paper Players. I’m loving the bLackberry Bliss, does’t it make your mouth water a little when you say it?! Thank you for paying me a visit, I hope you enjoyed the card and have yourselves a great Monday! 🙂

Hi Justin! Happy Monday—they come around fast, don’t they? This is a nice card…I love the layout and the dsp you used and the new blackberry bliss ink. I know we all need sympathy cards and this is a good one that’s not too feminine nor masculine. Very nice! Glad you had some downtime yesterday…we all need that! We had such a nice day yesterday, it felt good to be outside and get some much-needed yard work done! I’ll plant my flowers this week…yay! Have a great day!
Hello Karen!
Happy Monday to you too! Yes, they come around way too fast! Thanks! I really am loving the new In-Colors! Sympathy cards are not a favorite but we do unfortunately need them. I was happy to do nothing for a little while. Sounds like you had a nice day too! Yay for flowers! Enjoy your day! 🙂
Hi Justin – it sounds like you had a productive yet relaxing weekend. Good for you, that’s how it should be.
I never liked the spiral border punch – that is until I saw your card today. I think maybe it was because I was still working and it reminded me of the old Roladex file on my desk. Now that I’m retired and see it again, it takes on an entirely new meaning! This is a beautiful card and the spiral border punch really gives it the “punch” – no pun intended (who am I kidding, the pun sure was intended LOL)!
You have a Marvelous Monday. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to for tomorrow.
Hello Grace!
I did have a productive and relaxing weekend. I still wanted to go to the city, maybe next weekend. I love the Spiral Border Punch! I’m glad that you are thinking about it again. LOL! I like the pun! I hope that you had a nice day, tonight starts the Control Freaks tour at 8:45pm! 🙂
Justin, this is a sweet sympathy card. I think sympathy cards should be simple and not too cluttered. The sentiment is too important to be overshadowed. The dsp paper is perfect.
Thank you Gerri! I agree with you, thankful I don’t have to make them that often. 🙂
Justin,
This is a very serene and soft card, perfect for the type of card it is. I am so happy, happy, happy that the Spiral border punch is back! It adds such great detail to your card.
Glad that you had a good weekend. I too like to watch tv to just unwind and relax, empty’s my mind and helps to slow down for a bit!
Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration on this card! Again, you never let us down with your creations!!
Hope your Monday is a good one!
Donna
Donna,
Thanks! No one likes to make sympathy cards but they are an unfortunate necessity. I am ecstatic that the Spiral Border Punch is back! I totally agree with you about the TV and the emptying of the mind. I have a lot going on all the time and feels so good to watch a movie and get lost in it. You’re welcome and I thank you for taking the time to comment! It makes all of the work worth it! 🙂
Simple elegance, love this card. I personally had a very relaxing weekend but non productive, LOL I guess we need these once in a while
Thank you Linda! There is nothing wrong with a relaxing, not very productive weekend! We definitely do need them! 🙂
Lovely CAS card, Justin! A great way to use those blenders and that sweet DP! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Paper Players this week!
Thank you LeAnne! I really love the Blackberry Bliss, nice and rich! I hope that you have an amazing week! 🙂
Beautiful, Justin. You colored your flowers beautifully and I love the use of the punch and the new DSP. Really beautiful. Oh.. and I have to agree with you on TV time. Sometimes, I just need to veg, too. Hope the movies were good!
So glad you joined us again at the Paper Players and shared this fabulous card
Jaydee
Thank you Jaydee! The new DSP has a nice variety of patterns and I am so glad that the punch is back!! I still can’t believe how long I gave up TV for. It really does help clear my mind! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your week! 🙂
