Pals Paper Arts 206

Posted on

Well, I had a very nice Saturday and I hope that you did too! I got up and did some crafty things this morning. I finished mountain all of my new Stamp Sets, unfortunately the organizing didn’t happen. Around 10:00am I left the house to got and get a haircut, stopped by my parents and put a screen protector on mum’s new iPad Air. It was so nice out that I had to take a ride in the convertible and work on my car tan! LOL! I came home and made some cards, ran to Target and watched a little TV. This morning I’m off to Manhattan! I’m going to go and see my fiend Kim. We are going to go on a little adventure and then to see Maleficent. It’s supposed to be another beautiful day! Yeah! I’ll have some pictures for you all tomorrow!

I played with some more goodies and made my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 206

An interesting color combo don’t you think? My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and for the background I used a piece of Vellum Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit to cut out some So Saffron and adhered it to the panel with 2-Way Glue. I will tell you that like the Expressions Thinlits from the Holiday Catalog I recommend using a piece of wax paper between the card stock and die to help with easy release! The flower, bird and greeting are from the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. The flower is stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips, the bird in So Saffron and also cut out, finally the greeting in Pacific Point and the ends flagged. I used the small stars from the Be the Star Stamp Set, stamped them in Pacific Point and cut them out with the Stars Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the card. I love the eclectic feel of the card and the Striped Scallop Thinlit creates a really cool background for all of the them. There you have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge loaded with new stuff! I hope that you enjoyed the card and that you all have a great Sunday! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you tomorrow! 🙂

Good Morning Justin, Yes what a great weekend. The weather just makes you happy. I see . . . you added the fifth color feather to your blog. I really like this card today and the sentiment is perfect for a friend. The flower and bird and stars are just things you can’t see and not smile at. Have a great day. 🙂

    • Good morning Nancy!
It really does make you happy when the weather is so nice! I did! I’m not quite sure if I love it but it will grow on me. I needed a skinnier feather but I wanted them all different. Oh well, glad that you like it! I love the sentiment in that set, and all of the elements. I hope that you enjoy your day too! 🙂

This is fantastic! I love the baked Brown sugar with the striped scalloped thinlits! Those are definitely on my list! What great texture they add. Of course I love all the other element’s also. Birds are one of my favorite stamps so I am partial to cards with them on it. And collage style is my favorite!
Sounds like you had a great Saturday. Hope your Sunday is a good one!

    • Donna,
Thank you! I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the colors, I think the Pacific Point threw mw off a bit! The Thinlit is great, it really adds a nice delicate look. I am right there with you about the birds, I love them and collage is definitely my fave too! My Sunday is off to a good start, 35 minutes into Manhattan, top down all the way! Enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

Yeah for the Mossy Meadow feather!! You used two of my “need to get” stamp sets! Great job on cutting out the flower and bird. The Striped Scallop thinlits adds so much texture to the card! Have an enjoyable Sunday in Manhattan!

  5. Hi Justin! Nice card! I am glad you used the striped scallop thinlit…I was kind of wondering how it would look on a card. I think it adds a lot to your card…I’d better put that on my list! I think you are the king of fussy-cutting…you always do a great job with that. Have fun in the city, can’t wait to hear about your adventure!

  8. I agree that the Kinda Eclectic set is going to be a must have. That radiating circle can be used in a gazillion ways. I’m jealous that you get to spend such a fabulous day in Manhattan and I’m stuck here. So, as a result, you better have enough enjoyment for both of us! LOL Great card today, I think that was a tough color combination to put together.
