Freshly Made Sketches 140

Posted on

Oh Thursday, I’m always happy to see you because you are such good friends with Friday! It was rainy here yesterday morning but the sun did manage to peek out for a little while in the afternoon. Work was quite busy today and I have to run out to one of the other locations tomorrow so that will be a nice break. My friend Danielle is off to Miami for a bachelorette party tomorrow so I will be lonely at the office. I hope that she has a safe flight and a great time! And does some things that she shouldn’t do! LOL! 🙂

I got to relax and spend some quality crafting time at home this evening and I made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches #140

Super simple sketch calls for a nice simple card! I started mine off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. My background is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images are all from the Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set. My diagonal strip across the card is stamped in Lost Lagoon and backed with a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. The typewriter and greeting are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with my trusty Paper Snips. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. As I said nice and simple. I love the Tap Tap Tap Set, it was one of my first “must haves” from the new catalog. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thanks very much for popping in today to see what I’m up to. May you all have a fun crafty day! 🙂

  1. You are a fussy cut master! You wield your paper snips like Doctor Who wields his sonic screwdriver! Like Luke Skywalker wields his light saber! Like Katniss wields a bow and arrow–or Legolas for that matter. OK–I know my geekness is showing, but I am always blown away with it because it always looks like a die cut! I stand in awe of your power.

You are very welcome! I”m happy to hear that you received them! Glad you enjoyed the card too! I can’t wait to get my card!! So, excited! 4. Brilliant use of the Silver Foil sheet! (no pun intended) Oh, who am I kidding? I meant to pun, but I also meant that I loved your use of the Foil Sheet because it just gave me an idea for Cassidy’s graduation card. Which I need for this weekend. In two days. Eeek!

  9. Justin,
Oh my gosh! I love this card! First, Lost Lagoon is such a great color! I really do like the new in colors this year, oh and last years too! Second, that embossing folder with this stamp set is perfect! Third, speaking of stamp sets, love this one!! And of course you put it all together perfectly!! Great card!
We have had such gloomy weather here for the past two days. Hoping it clears up for this weekend. I think my sister and I are going back to the shore for the day on Saturday. We had such a great time last Saturday that we want to do it again! I love living close to the shore! It is only about an hour or so away from here, so making a day trip is not so bad!
Hope your Thursday is a good one!

Thank you! I agree, Lost Lagoon just might be my favorite color ever! I’m with you on this year’s and last year’s! I thought the EF would be a good compliment to the Stamps! Yeah!
We too have had very gloomy weather, but it’s supposed to be nice at the weekend which is when it counts! I hope that you enjoy your trip to the shore again and that the weather is beautiful! My day was pretty good and I hope that your’s was too! 🙂

  10. The good ole manual typewriter. Brings back memories of my father sitting at our kitchen table pecking out his reports. If I look hard enough, I bet he still has it stashed somewhere. Tap Tap Tap is a great set. I have something similar to this from a different stamp company, pre SU days. Wonderful card today Justin.

    • LOL! Yup! I don’t think that many people even know what to do with one of these old typewriters anymore! My parents still have one in the basement too! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card my friend! 🙂
