Fab Friday 44

Posted on

Hello peeps and welcome to an extremely happy Friday! The reason for that is I am off from work today! It was rainy here yesterday but cleared up in the afternoon, just in time for painting fun! Danielle and I went to Lowe’s and picked up the paint, met up with Andrew and had some dinner at Hurricane Grill and Wings. We started painting around 9 and finished at about 11:30. We managed to get the living room done. It was quite enjoyable because we had some laughs. The paint spilling on the drop cloths resulted in the soles of Andrew’s shoes being covered in paint. So we came up with an interesting way to get him out of the house without dragging paint everywhere. See below…

If you look in the background, you can see the color of the paint that I chose. Although I hope Andrew and I were more interesting than the paint color. LOL!

This Friday is made even better because it’s a Fab Friday! This time, we have a color challenge for you…

Fab Friday 44

Yes, those are all the new In-Colors! I used one of my favorite stamp sets, the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the foundation for my images is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and rounded the corners using the Project Life Corner Rounder. All of the images are from the Choose Happiness Stamp Set, the woodgrain flag is stamped in Hello Honey, the bird in Lost Lagoon, the flowers in Tangelo Twist and the greeting in Blackberry Bliss. I used the Banners Framelits to cut out the woodgrain flag and the greeting is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. A few strategically placed pearls along with some random ones finish off the card. I hope you enjoyed my video and card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the design team has done with it and upload your project so we can see what you do with it. Thanks for spending some of your Friday with me, enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin
Yes, you and Andrew were more interesting than the paint color! How funny! But the paint color looks great also!
Love your card! Everything goes great together! And of course I love the Bird! The pearls finish the card off very nicely!
Enjoy your day off! My sister and I are going to South Street in philly tonight. It’s a very bohemian shopping/eating/drinking fun place to go and my sister has not been there yet. She leaves on Monday so we want to go and have some fun!
    Enjoy your day!

Yeah! Thank you! We are all just kids at heart! I do love the paint color, thankfully! LOL! Glad you enjoyed the card, he is a great bird! I will have a busy day but a fun one. We have the fundraiser tonight. I hope that you have a great time with your sister. Sounds like that will be a nice way to cap off a great visit! 🙂

  6. Hi Justin:

Isn’t it wonderful that all the new In colors go together so beautifully? I love that so anytime my brain wants to nap when I get ready to make some cards I just know there isn’t a bad combination if I use the in colors. The wood grain stamp is one of my favorites although I don’t own the EF – at least yet. How do you ever find time to make cards with all that you are doing including the move?

The video looks great and your are fortunate to have friends that are willing to help you do things like paint and move. That turns a chore into a party for sure. Looks like that video needs to go on You Tube! LOL Glad you have so many wonderful people in your life, it alone is a super blessing.

Yes! I think the new In-Colors work quite well together! I use the Woodgrain EF a lot! Love it! The cards are too important for me not to do!
I am very fortunate to have friends to help me! We have fun and that’s the best part! The video is on YouTube!! I am lucky to have the people in my life that I do, including you! 🙂

  8. Hi Justin! I saw the in-colors you had to use and thought “yuk, no way all of those can go on one card”. Then I scrolled down and saw the card and it is Beautiful!!! Love it!

Smart way to get Andrew out without getting your floors all messed up.

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Like the color you chose to paint . Sorta thought you would go to that color family . Like your card also . That is a great stamp set with lots of potentials . I may have to get it . Last ,but not least ….I really enjoyed your solution to the paint on Andrews shoes . I would have just asked him to take his shoes off ! But then we wouldn`t have that cute video ! Happy Friday !

    • Thank you Sonny! It’s a nice calming but bright blue. I am definitely a fan of the blues. I do love the stamp set, it was one of the first on my must have list! I should have taken a picture of the bottom of his shoes, they were completely covered! Yeah, asking him to take his shoes off would have been boring! LOL! Happy Friday to you too! 🙂

  12. Sometimes you just have to create your own fun! Love the color! What’s the name of it? Thinking this may be the color I’m looking for to do my kitchen.

    • Absolutely Sharon! And sometime that is the best fun to have! The paint color I believe is Ocean Whisper, I’ll check later on today. It would look nice in any room I think! 🙂
