Mojo 350 & Pics!

Posted on

Off we go into what is going to be a busy weekend. I have some more painting and packing to do today and tomorrow, I want to get as much little stuff moved as possible before next weekend. Last night we had the fundraiser for the TAPA school at the firehouse. It was a great evening filled with music, raffles and dessert. Satellite Lane performed along with two other A Cappella groups. We had a great time and raised some money for a good cause. Lots of my peeps were there too which made it even better. Here are some group selfies from last night!

And finally Me and Heather! We really did have a great time! Everything really is so much better when you have great friends around!

Now for the crafty stuff. My post today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. The sketch this week’ is provided by Julee Tilman…

I really like the Tap, Tap, Tap Stamp Set and wanted to see what other things I could combine with it. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Pool Party that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp In Baked Brown Sugar. My two panels on either side are So Saffron stamped with the Backgrounds Rule Stamp also inked in Baked Brown Sugar and backed with Baked Brown Sugar. For the circle  in the middle I took a piece of So Saffron and cut it out with the Striped Scallop Thinlit, adhered it to some Baked Brown Sugar and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut it and a piece of Pool Party out for the backing. The notebook paper and greeting are from the Tap, Tap, Tap Stamp Set and are stamped in Pool Party and Memento Tuxedo Black. My star comes from the Be the Star Stamp Set and is stamped in So Saffron and cut out with the Stars Framelits. A piece of of Pool Party is punched out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to go in the middle. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A quirky fun card that uses lots of different elements that I think come together nicely. I hope that you enjoyed the pictures of my friends and I and my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thank you for coming by to see me and have a super Saturday! 🙂

Lots going on here on your card and yes it all comes so well together. And you sure have a lot going on too! Looks like a super busy weekend. Have fun!

  3. Love seeing photos of all your peeps. Now when you mention them we have faces to go with the names! Sounds like you are going to be totally exhausted by the time the move is over. It will be a good kind of exhausted though. You will have accomplished so much. Great looking group for sure Justin. You are very blessed.

You are really working that Stripe Scallop die! I have to say that until you started using it on your blog I too thought it looked like fish scales but boy, you have certainly changed my mind on that one. The Dictionary background stamp and the World background stamp are my two favorites. When I need a quick card for a guy, those are the two I turn to. Great card and fab photos. Thanks for sharing Justin!

    • Thank you Grace! Love sharing them with you! Yes, it’s always good to have a face to go with the name! I am looking forward to a nice brake at Convention after the move! I am very fortunate to have the people in my life that I do!
I really love that die. I didn’t see the fish scales until you mentioned it! It just makes a really nice background. I too love the Dictionary and World Map Stamps! They work well with so much! Thanks for spending a little time with me today! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin! Love your pics…so nice to put names and faces together! Sounds like you had a great time last night and for a great cause too. I love this card! Ok…I NEED the scallop die! I love how balanced this card is. And the colors…love those! Now…get back to packing! 😉 Have a great day!

    • Hello Karen!
Thank you! I think it’s better when you can see the people that I talk about all the time! Last night was fun! The Striped Scallop Thinlit is just a great little die. I can’t wait for it all to be done, packing and painting are not my favorite things to do! I hope you enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Sounds like you will be busy for the next few days! Luckily you had a relaxing evening with your incredible friends enjoying wonderful music. Hope your move goes smoothly!

Your card introduces so many new products and they all work fantastic together! I agree with Grace that the Stripe Scallop die made me think of fish scales ( which works great here on the Maine coast!) but you are showing so many other possibilities for it! Will have to look into more of the background stamps as your cards feature them often. Love the color combo too!

    • Yes Beth, very busy and I will be super happy when it’s all done! Last night was so much fun and the people make it even better! I had a lot of fun with the card yesterday! I needed some crafty time to break up the day! I do love a background stamp! I tend to use them more than DSP because I can make any color combo that I need! Enjoy your day! 🙂

  6. luvin the photos….you guys look amazing! your card is off the charts too, I luv this color combo…nicely done!

    • Thank you very much Linda! Love all of the elements that I used and am happy that you like the way they all worked together! I am very lucky to have my awesome friends that’s for sure! 🙂

  8. Justin,
This card is outstanding!!! I am a big fan of your cardmaking style and I love all your cards. But this one, is my favorite one of yours!!! I love everything about it! The note paper and the ruler paper! Oh my gosh, it made me stop and try to figure out what dsp that was! Great work Justin! It really is fabulous!
I loved all the pics also. It is so great to have good people around you. I think it makes you a better person when you have people that support, encourage, and love you! It sounds like the fundraiser was a hit! That’s great. I hope you had success in getting your painting and packing done today.
We went to the Yankees minor team, the Trenton Thunder, game tonight. It was a beautiful night for a ball game. They had fireworks afterward, a very nice evening.
    Hope your Saturday was good!

    • Hey Donna!
Thank you so much! I love when I get to make a card and it gets a reaction like that from you! 🙂
I have amazing people around me and yes, it definitely does make us better people when we surround ourselves with love! The fundraiser was fun and filled with good memories! I did get my painting finished and some packing, more to do today!
That sounds like you had a nice evening! We had fireworks here in my neighborhood. For my poor dogs sake I’m looking forward to moving to the new apartment. He doesn’t like fireworks at all. 🙂
