Pals Paper Arts 214

Posted on

Before I get my post started for today, I want to begin by saying thank you for all of your kind words in regards to my grandmother’s passing. It means a lot to me that you all not only take the time out of your day to read my blog, but to comment and share stories from your life with me as well. The level of kindness I receive from so many people on a daily basis is simply overwhelming and I just want you all to know how much I truly appreciate it. I share little bits of my life with you, and you in turn do the same with me. And that is why typing my post is the best part of my day. All that being said, today is of course Friday… still my favorite day of the week. LOL!

The card I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge…

PPA 214

Now there are three colors that I would have never thought to put together! After thinking about it for a while I decided that I would ink up a new stamp set, actually my favorite from the new holiday catalog! And after you see which one it is, you’ll know why. For the base of the card I used Island Indigo Card Stock. My background is created using the hearts from the Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask. I sponged on Crisp Cantaloupe onto Whisper White Card Stock and stopped just short of the bottom where I adhered a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape. My greeting is from the @sosocial Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered a piece of Wild Wasabi behind the background before adhering it to the base. The three feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set*. They are stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White Card Stock and then sponged over with Wild Wasabi Ink. I used the Feathers Framelits* to cut them out. Before adhering them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I brushed on some of my glimmer concoction. At the bottom of the feathers I adhered a Regals Designer Button with a Mini Glue Dot. You know that I love the Four Feathers and Feathers Framelits, I’ve been waiting for those for quite a while. I also like the way the glimmer concoction makes them iridescent in the light. I hope you enjoyed my card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge that is filled with feathered #awesomeness. LOL! I’m so happy to have you come by and share part of my day. I hope that your Friday is a good one!

PS: Andrew says hello! 🙂

  9. Hi Justin and Happy Friday! I was wondering how long it would take you to post a card using the Four Feathers and matching framelits! This is a pretty card. I love the hearts scattered in the background and the shiny feathers…so pretty! I found this to be a challenging color combo but I like what you’ve done with it. Hello Andrew!! Are we gonna see another card from you soon? Hope so!! Have a great Friday!

  10. Justin, Fabulous card! Feathers – LOVE them! I also love the way you used the heart stencil (I know SU calls it something else but its a stencil as far as I’m concerned). Love em. You put the colors together beautifully.

  11. It’s good to hear you find strength and support from us following your blog. Thank you for sharing your life daily along with your great cards. I really enjoy reading your blog and try to visit daily which makes me smile as I have chronic health problems which has stopped me from working so you do inspire me!
Funny how some colour combinations you would never think of look fab. The deal with big shot is on here in UK too and going to have to buy it as I don’t have one and been saving for a few months. I think I’m going to need it for Holiday catalogue items. LOL!
Take care and have a good weekend, Michelle xo

I would have never put those colors together. But that’s why they call it a challenge! I think I use my Big Shot for almost every card I make! You are going to love it! 13. I havent visited your blog for a week or so…went on a retreat to help me heal from my Mom’s passing this summer, I know your heartache in losing your Grandmother, mixed with the blessings and joy she brought to your life. But as the book says, “and tomorrow the roses bloom” …life is a cycle and we must make the most of each day! Thoughts and prayers for you & your family.
