Fab Friday 48

T G I F!! T G I F!! T G I F!! Can you tell that I’m excited that it’s Friday?!?! I’m not going to lie, I’m over work this week, too many things that shouldn’t be given to me to do are given to me. I have a few errands to run today, like the Apple Store so that will make the day much better! It was a gorgeous day here yesterday in the high 70’s and a slight breeze with plenty of sun! It sure doesn’t feel like August and I hope that this doesn’t mean that there will be another bad winter! But I’m really enjoying it at the moment! Tonight I have some crafty things to do and at some point over the weekend I would like to get the Stampin’ Galley a little more organized! We’ll see how that goes! LOL! What do they say about the best laid plans?! What’s on for the weekend for you people?!

Today is a very special Friday not just because it a Fab Friday but it’s a special Fab Friday! Mindy had her little baby boy Ian!! We decided to surprise her with a little change of plans! We all made baby card this time! Congratulations Mindy and Jon!! He’s adorable!!

Fab Friday Baby-001

I went with a nice simple card that would be easy to duplicate, I actually know quite a few people that have had babies lately. Little Daniel turned nine months old yesterday and is crawling and sitting up already! They do grow up so fast! My card begins with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. The background is a piece of Lullaby Designer Series Paper, I punched the left side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. My large flag is a piece of Hello Honey and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the circle in the middle. Across the top is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I trimmed with the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade and adhered it to the flag with Multi-Purpose Glue. Before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I stamped my sentiment from the Dear Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. The sweet onesie is from the Something for Baby Stamp Set and is stamped in Pistachio Pudding and cut out with the Baby’s First Framelits. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place too. Like I said simple but I love the layout and the colors! I really hope that Mindy and you both enjoyed the card and that Mindy was surprised! That’s my card for this week’s Welcome Ian challenge for Fab Friday. Head on over to the blog to see what my teammates have done and let’s see what you can come up with! Thank you for coming by to see me today, I hope that you all have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin
Such a “sweet” card! I am definitely caseing to one! It does seem like it would be a good card to duplicate. I always seem to need baby cards. I really like the circle out of the banner, it adds a lot to the card and love love love the colors!
Yay for Daniel crawling and sitting up already! Your right, they do grow up so fast! My baby is a mommy of one with one how the way! I don’t know how that happened so quickly!
I am having injections into my back today, hoping that it finally gets me some relief from the pain. So I am going to have a restful weekend. Just taking it easy.
    Have a fantastic Friday

    • Hello Donna!
Thank you! It’s not too simple but not too complicated, just right! I like the circle out of the banner too, loving the negatives lately! Daniel is so cute, my brother FaceTimes my mum almost every night and as soon as he see me he comes over, LOVE him! WOW! They do grow up quickly, Taylor was car shopping with my parents today. Ugh! I hope the injections help! I feel bad whining about my knee with all that you have been through! Get your rest my friend! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin and a very happy Friday to you!! Great card today for Mindy! Love the colors you used and the way you cut the circle out to frame the little onesie! So cute! You know, I kind of forgot that I have that scalloped blade for my paper trimmer…I should use that!! 😉 We have a rather quiet weekend on tap which is good because the last few have been crazy busy. I hope to get some stamping done too. All kinds of christmas/holiday ideas are floating around in my head! Have a great rest of your day!

    • Hello Karen!
A very happy Friday to you too! Thank you! It was fun to surprise her, she’s great! LOL! I forgot about the scallop blade too until I turned my Stampin’ Trimmer over and saw in in the storage place! I have a lot of crafting to do this weekend. I need to make swap cards and finish my Thank You cards and actually mail them out! I hope that you get your crafty time in! It’s good to get those ideas out of your head! 🙂

  4. Happy Friday to you Justin:

I think it’s amazing when one or two little accents really compliment a singular image to make it into an outstanding card. I mean really – look at how much that scalloped edge and a few dimensionals have turned a cute card into a dynamite card. It’s all in the details I guess. Anyway, I think this card is outstanding and you sure as heck won’t find anything cuter at Hallmark.

No big plans for this weekend here. We are going to spend it quietly recovering from all the guests we have had over the past three weeks and revive ourselves for the slew that should start streaming in on Thursday. Our winters are long and we get restless from lack of company but our summers sure as heck make up for it and we just enjoy every second, however it is nice to have a few days break in between.

Hope you get to enjoy every minute of this weekend. I think you have pretty much the same weather forecast as we do with the possibility of a shower or two for the next 4 or 5 days and then back to HHH – yuk! Have your self a Funky Friday my friend.

    • Happy Friday to you too Grace!
Thank you very much! I love a little dimension and yes, the little things sometime make the card! Hallmark… whats that?! LOL!
You definitely need a little break every now and then! I really need to go somewhere without an internet connection for a few days but I think that I might need to be institutionalized after that! I am so connected all the time, but if I wasn’t I wouldn’t get to talk to you!
Yes, we are going to have the same weather. I hope that you enjoy your reprieve my friend! Oh, I got your card today, thank you so much I love it and the was very nice of you to send it! You are simply wonderful!
      XOXO

    • Hello Georgie!
You made me blush! LOL! The DSP is great, it’s billed as for babies but the colors and patterns work for anything! Ian is very cute and Mindy is sweet as can be! You have a great weekend too! 🙂

I hope to sneak some playtime in this weekend, but I have two kids heading off to college so I know soon playtime will come. Take care

    • Thank you Linda! Love the negative space, it can draw your attention in just where it needs to be. I hope you get your playtime in, and yes, after the kids leave there will be plenty of playtime! 🙂
