Paper Craft Crew 107 & The Puppies

Posted on

Mid week, yes, it’s nice to be here again. My day was all sorts of fun! LOL! Not really but what can ya do?! I found that rolling with it is a much better way to go than, well, all of the other ways one could go. I try to apply that to everything in my life, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. Life is all about experiences and learning and growing from them. I am successful most of the time but there is always one that I get caught up on. I’m getting better, but there is still work that needs to be done. Sorry about that, just a little stream of consciousness that slipped out! On a happier and lighter note here is that picture of Kim with all of the puppies!

Kim & The Wuppies

Aren’t they just adorable! Yes, Kim too! LOL! Daisy is the mom and then the dad is there and the two sons. One big happy family! They do so love Kim, their favorite thing to do is sit on her!

Hmm… let’s see… Wednesday… ahh yes, it Paper Craft Crew sketch time! Here is this week’s inspiration for you…

PCCCS107 8-27-2014

I didn’t follow it exactly but I did stay pretty true to it. For my base I used a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is two different pieces of paper from the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit to cut out some Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the background with some Multi-Purpose Glue. A strip of Calypso Coral with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker’s Twine covers up the seam and top of the scallop. My greeting is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Garden Green and Calypso Coral. I used the Chalk Talk Framelits and the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to cut them out. A piece of Pistachio Pudding cut out with the Oval Collection Framelits goes behind it and all of the layers are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way the scallop pattern in the DSP mimics the Striped Scallop and is seen again in the DSP on the top half. I hope that you enjoyed my eclectic Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Make sure that you stop by the BLOG to see more inspiration and enter your card in the gallery so I can see your take! Thank you for coming by to see what’s going on in my little corner of the world, I love having you spend some time with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, I hope your day is better than yesterday. I like your way of thinking about rolling with things that happen although hard at times. I definitely think that family (some relations anyway!), good friends and crafting make things easier to go with the flow of life. Kim and the dogs are very cute and they look like they are having a great time sitting on & with Kim!
Like the take on the sketch with your card. The chalk talk stamp and framelits are great and very versatile. One day I will get up the courage to submit a card into a challenge gallery. LOL!

    • Hello Michelle,
I made to day a better day, even though they tried to ruin it! LOL! You just have to decide what is important enough to get annoyed about, there is much more important stuff in life to pay attention to. I completely agree with you, family friends and crafting do make everything better! The dogs love Kim, I don’t think I would enjoy all four of them on me, I think that’s why I get along with the cat better! I haven’t used the Chalk Talk Bundle in a while. I do love the Framelits, it’s nice to no have to fussy cut all the time! We all have to start somewhere and once you do make the move and submit your card you can only get better! It’s what I did! 🙂

Hi Justin, the creative license you took with this sketch is great. You really have a way of taking so many different elements and producing a very cohesive design…must be a gift!

The pups are adorable….it’s hard to believe those big boys came from little Daisy! Have a wonderful Wednesday.

    • Hello Roseanne!
Thank you! I really appreciate it! I love sitting there with everything around me and just taking it all in, silly huh?! Yes, the puppies are very cute! Daisy is so tiny I find it hard to believe too, but they are hers! I hope that you had a very nice Wednesday! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin! Such a cute pic of Kim and her dogs. Love that! You can tell that she gives them a very loving home! Love your card!! The way you used the scalloped die in gold foil is so pretty. Just a little bit of it peeking thru. This dsp is awesome, isn’t it? Great, great card! Hope today is a better day for you. You have the best outlook Justin! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us tomorrow! See you then!

    • Hello Karen!
The dogs are actually her friends but she puppy sits a lot and loves the so much!
Thank you very much! I do love that Striped Scallop, delicate but it looks so nice in gold! The DSP is fun and I din’t even use any of the gold from the pack, but I do like the sheen on it! A good outlook is the key to a happier life I think. Hope you enjoy tomorrow’s post! 🙂

    • You are not the only one that gets irritated, I try not to but sometimes even my best efforts are useless! We are all a work in progress and as long as we are improving ourselves it’s all worth it!
Thank you! I had fun with the sketch! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  7. Just look at all those dawgs! Looks like a lotta fun to me. Justin: I have to tell you something. One reason I’m so crazy about your blog is because of your life attitude. So in regard to the ‘other thing’ you mentioned –The other night I pinned a quote that said ‘the best thing about the worst part of your life is that you get to see peoples’ true colors.’ What matters in life? Truth and love. Just keep on being the light. And making amazing cards. And inspiring all your SU groupies. End of sermon! PS: awesome card AS USUAL 🙂

    • LOL! Yes Georgie the dawgs are a fun bunch! Like a little happy unit of furry love! I think a good attitude makes for a pleasant existence! You are all a good example of that! That is an excellent quote! I love it! Sometimes I just put way more effort into things that I really shouldn’t and when I realize what I have done, I’m a little disappointed. It passes but I wish I didn’t waste the time in the first place! Live and learn, hopefully! Don’t ever forget that you inspire me too! I would be nothing with you!! Glad that you enjoyed the card! You are simply amazing! 🙂
