That was a good Friday! I managed to escape the office for 3 hours! I had to go to one of our other locations and set up an iPad and mount for someone in a wheelchair with Cerebral Palsy. She was quite happy with her new gadget. After that I stopped by the Apple store to exchange a keyboard that stopped working. They are so nice there, never any issues just a smile and a thank you. To top it off they released us at 3:30! I came home and took a nap! LOL! I only got about 4 hours of sleep the night before so I needed it! Taylor came by with her new car and we went to Target to get her some floor mats. I found a new Glade Plug-in that smells amazing, it’s called Woodside Library. Here is their description, “Quiet and comfortable, a window seat at the town library provides a perfect nesting place on a crisp fall day. Cozy up, settle in and enjoy the scent of rich oak and vintage leather-bound volumes”. It has a classically clean scent and it’s not floral which is a nice change! I’m going to spend some time crafting today and then who knows. What are your plans for the weekend?
A while back my friend Eva had asked me if I would be a guest designer on her challenge blog called Can You CaseIt? I said that I would love to and so that’s what today’s card is for. Here is this week’s sketch…
Nice and simple don’t you think? I started my card with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and I backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss. A strip of Pool Party is embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and goes down the right side. For my greeting I stamped a stamp from the Hi There Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White and backed it with another piece of Blackberry Bliss. The feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. A Subtles Designer Button is adhered with a Glue Dot on top of the bottom of the feathers. I used the sequins die that I got the other day to cut out some Blackberry Bliss and put some Crystal Effects on the and adhered them to the left of the greeting. I really love the colors together, cheery without being too bright and you all know how much I love the feathers! So there you have my Guest Designer card for the Can You Case It? sketch challenge for this week. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the design team has done and show them some love by uploading one of your cards to the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed the card and I thank you for checking in! Have a super Saturday my friends! 🙂

Ah – feathers and bubbles and buttons oh my! Excellent take on the sketch Justin. Tell me, is there any color at all that the new Blackberry Bliss doesn’t coordinate with? Great job for sure.
Glad you had a good Friday. Every once in a while we all deserve a good day at work. It’s even better when you retire and every day is a good day. 🙂 Now, on top of that you get a 3 day weekend. Plenty of time to catch up on some sleep and have some fun. We kind of hide out on holiday weekends as so many tourists show up everything gets way too crowded for us that are used to having plenty of breathing space. We have plenty of time to enjoy our state so it’s fine with us to sit back once in a while and allow others to enjoy a bit of it also.
You have yourself a fantastic weekend and prepare for the most wonderful season of the year.
LOL! That makes me want to do a little dance! Thank you! Blackberry Bliss is really a great color and does go with so much!
I won’t lie, I look forward to retirement when every day is a good day! Three day weekends are always welcome, the only thing better is a weeks vacation! It’s very nice of you to have such a good attitude about the people coming to visit your neck of the woods. More people should think like you! I hope that you are having a great weekend and I’m not ready for summer to be over at all! 🙂
Happy weekend Justin, Love the boldness of the Blackberrt Bliss with the other colors. Your “homemade” sequins look great -so many possibilities now! And feathers… Of course!!
Glad you got to spend time with Taylor before her classes and college life begins. My last daughter just graduated in May and is now out in “the real world”! Good luck to Taylor! Enjoy your long weekend!
Happy weekend to you too Beth! I love Blackberry Bliss with most colors and those sequins are quite fun! Any color I want is just a trip through the Big Shot away!
I’m glad that Taylor is going to school locally, she did want to go away but there will be plenty of time for that later on! You enjoy your weekend too! 🙂
I like this card ! I like feathers and I like the idea of a new blog to visit over at Can You Case It . Yay for Taylor and her new car ! Plus yay for you with a long weekend !
Now I am going to be sure and smell that new Glade when I go to the store this afternoon !
Happy Weekend !
Thanks Sonny! You know how I feel about feathers! I’m happy to give you new places to go and see! Taylor is very happy about her car indeed! I love a three day weekend! You will have to let me know what you thought of Woodside Library! 🙂
Hi Justin! Great card today! I really love the color combo you used! Love your homemade sequins!! Such a crisp and clean card! So nice that you got to spend some time with Taylor last night too! Have an awesome Saturday! Oh—I have GOT to get that Hi There stamp set!!
Thanks very much! I love Blackberry Bliss with just about anything! The sequins really are fun, I think that I need to go lighter on the crystal effects next time though! I love that hello in the stamp set, great font! I hope that you are enjoying the weekend! 🙂
I love the smell of books… need to find that. Great card, I am loving that feather stamp set and dies. Take care
It really does have a nice complex scent Linda! I love to have the house smell nice and it’s great to not have a floral scent for a change! Glad you like the card too! I hope that you had a nice Saturday and a good Sunday! 🙂
Great card Justin. You ‘made’ me add the feathers bundle on my order! After resisting for a little while I realized it was futile. Lol. Glad you got to spend some father-daughter time with Taylor. Cherish those precious moments…. They are truly priceless!
Thank you Louise! Yeah! Success! I really do love the bundle, I hope that it sticks around after the Holiday Catalog! I do love a little Taylor time, she’s really a good kid! 🙂
I would buy that Glade just because of the name! The colors of your card are so pretty together. I love the feathers, also, and that dotty little folder is too cute. As for Taylor-you know how much you love your car; then guess how much she loves having her own! I always cringed inside when the kids asked to drive mine, so glad when they had own. We are going to cook out tomorrow and I hope to get in some time for stamp fun! Thanx for sharing your great card.
Yes Georgie! It smells soooo good!! Thank you! I do love the Blackberry Bliss and Pool Party together and the Daffodil Delight is just fun! I know how much Taylor loves having her own car, it’s your freedom! Thankfully she drove her mother’s car, not mine! I hope that you enjoy your cook out and that you do get some stamping time in too! Enjoy! 🙂
Justin, thank you so much for guest designing for us! I love this card.
Thank you very much Terri! I was very happy that I was asked to! Glad that you like the card! 🙂
Love your card, Justin! You always do such a great job of coordinating colors and design elements. The embossing folder that you used reflects the pattern in the DSP and adds texture, too. Great design!
