Paper Players 212

Posted on

Again, the weekend was just too quick. I did have a nice one but still not long enough. Yesterday I spent some time being crafty, never a bad thing. I went over to see Kim and the munchkins for lunch and we got caught up which is always nice! I did have little bit of an issue yesterday with what we thought was my blog. Andrew text me to say that when he was looking at my post from yesterday he saw that certain words were highlighted and if he clicked on them he got a warning about a suspected phishing site. After some panic and research we found out that it was something that was actually on his computer in the browser. We found instructions on how to remove it and it wasn’t easy but we got it done in the end. So if you ever come across this issue on any web site you visit know that there is a good possibility that there might be something wrong with your computer. Why people can’t just leave the internet be is just beyond me! LOL!

While it’s Monday and I’m not happy about that I am happy that it’s time for another Paper Players challenge. This week we have a Happy Fall Y’all theme from Ann…

Paper Players #212

I don’t really want to think about cooler weather and sweaters and jackets but I guess it inevitable! My card for today begins with a base of Soft Suede Card Stock. The background is a piece of the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper. There are some really neat patterns in that pack, I’m really loving this woodgrain one! I stamped my wreath from the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hello Honey and Soft Suede, the Wonderful Wreath Framelits cut it out. To back it I cut a piece of Tangelo Twist out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits and used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. In the middle I adhered a piece of Always Artichoke that I punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. My pumpkin is from the Fall Fest Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangelo Twist and cut out with the Fun Fall Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere all of the pieces to the card. I wanted a little more color so I stamped the leaves from the Fall Fest Photopolymer Stamp Set in Always Artichoke and used the Fun Fall Framelits again to cut them out. They are tucked under the wreath and adhered with SNAIL. My greeting is from the For All Thing Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede on Tangelo Twist and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Two more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place. I’m loving the Wondrous Wreath in the fall colors and the woodgrain DSP from the Motley Monsters pack is just great! And there is my card for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge from Ann! I hope that you enjoyed it and that we can keep fall at bay for as long as possible! LOL! Thank you for checking in with me today! Try and enjoy your Monday! 🙂

  1. Good morning Justin, Love the colors and design with the wreath on the pierced windows frame! The leaves below act as a festive fall bow! I love fall so anything with leaves, pumpkins and acorns are a hit with me! Have a good Monday!

  2. Hello Justin! Great projects the last couple of days! I loved the way you cut out the words on yesterday’s post and I love all things Fall so today’s card is just gorgeous! I wanted to let you know that I’ll be “off the grid” for a bit here but I wanted to be the first (or almost!) the first to wish you a very Happy Birthday on Friday! I hope you have a day that’s as special as you are!!!! I’ll check back soon! 🙂

  3. Good Morning Justin!

What a great idea to use the wreath and stick a pumpkin in the center! I forget about the paper piercing and I have all of the SU templates. I think this is a fabulous fall card and, like Beth, I love anything fall because of the fantastic colors. Beth is right that the leaves do act as a bow. I don’t know how you do it but keep doing what you’re doing, your cards are just gorgeous!

Boy, I wish I had you and Andrew around when my computer decides to have fits. I hate calling tech support and getting someone whose English is so difficult to understand. Usually they are very nice and very helpful yet I am uncomfortable talking to someone overseas to fix the problem.

Wishing you a Marvelous Monday – I have a busy day today and am not looking forward to it. LOL 🙂

    • Hello Grace!
Thank you so much! I love the Paper-Piercing Packs and am very happy that every time I use a Framelit I check to see if I can Paper-Pierce! I really do love the earthy colts of Fall but like I said to Beth I don’t like the cold! I will try to keep on churning out some nice cards for you!
I would be happy to help you out with your tech issues! I help lots of people out and Andrew is a lot smarter at fixing tech stuff than he gives himself credit for!
I hope that you had a wonderful day my friend, even though it was busy!! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin! Love the fall colors!! Actually I love fall. Cooler weather is definitely for me.

My husband & I went to see Jersey Boys yesterday. It was as great as everyone said. The city wasn’t crowded at all. Weather was perfect! I’m beginning to think that Sunday is the best day to go there. It was a beautiful day.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful card!

    • Hello Gerri!
The colors of Fall, yes, I do love them, I’m not a cold fan though!
I heard that Jersey Boys was great, I am wanting to see Book of Mormon, tickets are hard to get and expensive! Sundays are always a good day for the city, especially in the summer! It will start to get a lot more crowded now that the vacationers are back! Thank you for coming to see, I love our chats! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin,
It sounds like you had a nice weekend overall. You always seem to get so much done in those 48 hours!
Oh computer problems! UGHH! So glad that it wasn’t anything major for your blog and sorry that Andrew had the issue. I am glad you could figure it out. I stress out whenever my computer has an issue. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does I don’t handle it well!
Onto your lovely fall card! Which, I have to agree with you on not wanting the fall weather to come! It is still better than the cold and snow though! I love this card! I have not yet purchased this set, I think it will be on this weeks order. I just love the depth the wreath has with the two step stamping. And I am with Grace on the paper piercing, I have all the templates but always forget to do it! It adds such a nice detail to the card. Love the pumpkin in the center of the wreath! Another great card, Justin!
I am still in pain. I am still packed in ice most of the time. The doctors office called today and said it gets worse before it gets better! I am not sure if I have gone through the worse yet! I am hoping so! I am still not able to do steps and since I live in the basement apartment, that means I have to stay up with my daughter and son in law in their guest room. It isn’t bad but I really miss being able to go over to my craft area and just work on my projects. I am working on some canvas’s for Christmas. Each one takes some time so I figured I would start early. How is your mixed media project coming? I can’t wait to see it!
Sorry about being so chatty! I haven’t really been out of the house since Friday so I miss some adult interaction!
    Hope your Monday is fantastic!

    • Hello Donna,
I did have a great weekend, yes they are busy but I like them like that! I’m glad that Andrew had discovered the issue, someone else had said something to ma a while back but I wasn’t sure what they were talking about. I’m pretty good with computers and so is Andrew, you should see what he can do with pictures!
I’m very happy that you like the card! And yes, Fall is definitely better than Winter, I think we should skip Winter all together! The Wondrous Wreath is a fantastic set! I think I have used it more than any other one in the Holiday Catalog! Paper-Piercing does give a nice border, Love it!
I can’t believe that you still aren’t any better. I can imagine the frustration. I would hope that the worst is behind you. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t get to my craft stuff! Never apologize for being chatty, that’s what this section is for! LOL! I did some of my mixed media project but then I had so many other projects to work on it got put aside for now.
I love chatting to you, you can always be as chatty as you want! My Monday was a Monday, but it’s behind us now! I really hope that things start to get better for you soon! XOXO 🙂

  6. Hi Justin, sounds like you had a fun & crafty weekend. Like everyone else I really like the colour combination for today’s card and love the way you added a few twigs next to it in the photo. While I love summer I equally love the autumn and colours it brings. On my list of places to travel I have East Coast of USA in autumn to see all the colour splendour. I have been very lucky to see a few places in your great country and lived and worked in Australia for several years and hoped to nurse in USA but have not been able to due to long term health illness which has stopped me working. I’m hopeful that I will get back to work as I’m stubborn! LOL! I know that craft helps lots of people who have health illnesses and I’m so grateful to have found I can be crafty! I look forward to reading and seeing what you do Justin as it inspires me and can make my day better. Okay, sorry enough of me going on!
    Have great day. Michelle xo

    • Hello Michelle!
I did have a great weekend! I felt the card needed another color and the leaves seemed the best place to add it. The colts of Fall are definitely more my taste but I like the warmer weather! The East Coast is beautiful in the Fall, so many colors! I hope that you health situation clears up soon! If you do get to come over here we have to get together! I’m happy to get share my days with such great people! Don’t apologize for “going on”! LOL! I hope that you had a nice day! Speak to you soon! XOXO 🙂

  9. This is a beautiful card. I love that you are giving us new ideas about using the wreath stamp. I thought it was beautiful as a Christmas wreath but now that I see how it can be a fall wreath and even using spring colors possibly. Very pretty. Thanks for all your ideas and inspiration.

  14. Yet another fabulous card from you using the Wondrous Wreath set Justin – love the fall colour combination you’ve used on this one and the two leaves poking out the bottom. This woodgrain paper is calling me for a fall wreath card too! Thanks so much for joining us at The Paper Players this week.
