So how was your Monday? I have no complaints about mine. Yes, it was busy but not insanely so. I got stuff done and then after dinner I sat down and made a card and then just relaxed for bit. It’s nice to be able to do that, even though I always feel like there is something else I should be doing! LOL! Yes, my scary little brain is always working thinking about things that I need to get started on and finish. Never a dull moment inside my crazy head! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. Here is what we are working with this week…

Mojo363

I wanted to show off the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper so I went with a subtle Halloween theme. The base for my card is Basic Black Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of the Motley Monsters DSP on the bottom and some Crushed Curry that I embossed with the Luck Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Tangerine Tango on the left and another piece of the Motley Monsters DSP that I backed with a piece of Basic Black to make it a little sturdier. They are adhered to each other with SNAIL and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My two circles, the larger one from Crushed Curry and the smaller form Tangerine Tango, are cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. The October and 31 are from the Project Life Day to Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used my Black Stampin’ Write Marker to edge them. The large circle is adhered to the panel with SNAIL and across it is a piece of Basic Black with the right side flagged. A piece of White & Tangerine Tango Two Tone Trim is formed into a bow and adhered behind the smaller circle under a Stampin’ Dimensional. A fun yet subtle Halloween Card and if you add a sentiment would make a nice fall birthday or thank you card! There are some really neat patterns in the Motley Monsters DSP, I think it may be one of my favorites in the Holiday Catalog! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to come by and see what I have been up to and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

  1. I like that you used the Lucky Stars folder behind the candy corn DSP and circles. Makes me think of the big harvest moon rising into the sky. All the Motlley Monsters (had to tie in the DSP name) running around on trick or treat night. Cute card.

  2. Hi Justin! Love this! I’m a Halloween nut anyhow but this is such a cute, cute card! Love the stars EF too! I’m amazed at your steady hand in outlining the circles! Mine would have a blob every now and then. It’s a tad chilly here this morning, it was 39 degrees! Yikes—feels more like a November morning. But the sun is shining and it’s gonna be a gorgeous day here! Enjoy your day!

Thanks so much! I know that you love Halloween! I thought this was nice subtle Halloween card! I actually run the marker edge around the edge of the circles. It easier than trying to actually draw on them! It was a little chilly here too, and rained most of the day but cleared up in the evening. I hope that you enjoyed your day too! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin, love the Halloween card and others you have posted over weekend. The washy tape with skulls is fab too. I have heard that Halloween is a big and fun time in America unfortunately not so much here although it is getting bigger. This year my friends and family will be getting Halloween cards from me made from great SU products. It’s great to see the DSP’s in use too.
It looks like you had a good weekend and a fun birthday. Any Tim Tams left? LOL! Like that Andrew high jacked your blog and they did a great job raising that much money for their charity.
Have a great day my crafty friend,
    Michelle xo

Thanks very much! I love that whole pack of Washi Tape, I wish they would keep things around a little longer! Yes, the Americans love Halloween! It has gotten almost as big as Christmas! People decorate their houses, crazy! Just another way to spend money! LOL! I’m sure that your friends will love getting cards from you! I had a lovely weekend and a great birthday! Friends are the best gift in the world! I am rationing the Tim Tams! I had so many cupcakes to eat! Andrew is an awesome person! He really is one of a kind! I hoe that your day was a good one my friend! Until next time! XOXO 🙂

  5. Hi Justin:

I made 3 apple pies yesterday and, since it was pretty chilly here, I got to keep the windows closed and the entire house smelled like apple pie! I LOVE fall. I will make another three pies tomorrow and then next week will begin making soups for the freezer. By the time November 1st arrives the freezer should be chock full of goodies to get me through the busy holidays and snowy days so that if I’m busy making Christmas cards or working on a quilt I can just pop something out of the freezer and whoa la! – dinner. LOL

Love the card today. Orange and Yellow and Black, oh my! 🙂 It must be fun at your place during the holidays with creativity overflowing. Hope you had a fantastic birthday and wishing you a Terrific Tuesday!

Ooh!! That sounds absolutely wonderful! I love the smell of apple pies in the oven! You are quite the organized person! I wish I could think that far ahead! I’m lucky I can think to the next day! LOL!
I have so much fun making the cards, I never really liked Halloween until I became a Stampin’ Up! Demo! Now I thoroughly enjoy the creative part of it! I had the best birthday and from what you said your weekend was great! 🙂

Hi Justin! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for a while now and appreciate your work. Just want to comment on your new photography props…love them! You’ve done a good job of gathering items to use; they all fit the theme or color scheme of your card quite nicely. Thanks for jazzing it up a bit!

I’m so happy to have you stop by and see me! I needed to jazz things up a bit, the white background was a little boring and I have fun finding new props to use! I’m happy that you like it too! Have a lovely evening! 🙂
