SUO Challenges 106

Posted on

Yesterday wasn’t so bad for a Monday and I don’t get to say that often! Work was the usual busy but manageable. Little Daniel was at my parents for dinner and he was a little better about his food this time. He has some teeth now so his smile is even better! His birthday is coming up so I’m going to help his mom Erika with the decorations, that should be fun! After dinner I went over to see my friends Brian & Kim and the wee ones. Heather stopped by quick too. Love getting to see so many peeps all at once! It got a little chilly here last night, I guess just to remind us that Fall is officially here. So long summer, Just so you know I wouldn’t mind it if you came back for a bit, just until April! LOL!

It’s Tuesday so here the weekly deals from Stampin’ Up! and there are some good ones!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Autumn colors challenge. I did some fall cards over the weekend so I wanted to use some different stuff. The card starts with a base of Hello Honey Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Truly Grateful Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar in the lower right hand corner. The panel is a piece of Very Vanilla that I stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Spiral Border Punch along the top and then used the Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Attachment and the Perforating Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade across the top for a more authentic notebook paper feel! My leaf is cut out with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die from a piece of Tangelo Twist. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two of the Autumn Wooden Essentials are glued to each other and to the leaf with Multi-Purpose Glue. To finish things off I tied a piece of Linen Thread in a bow around the top of the leaf. A nice simple fall card that would make a great thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the SUO Challenges Autumn colors. Stop by the blog and check out the other projects and make one for us to see! Thank you so very much for stopping by and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

  2. Hi there Justin. What an artful picture you did. The card is splendid and I love the leaves hanging on the wood grain notebook paper-very clever.
So fall is in the air out there? I love fall back east, the smells are like nowhere else. I grew up in Massachusetts and that was always my favorite time of year. Thanks for bringing me a little bit of autumn.

    • Hey there Marty!
Thank you very much! I like when you can do something a little different! Yes, it’s definitely fall here, sweatshirt this morning and for most of the day but it was nice when I left work. We don’t have the Fall smell yet, but it will be here soon! Hope that you had a good day! 🙂

  3. Hmm – I forgot all about that Truly Grateful set until I just saw your card. AND again, I love that you use the hardwood stamp in so many different ways with so many different types of cards. You really inspire us to use it more often and not to confine it to guy’s birthday cards. Super photo background also. Don’t know where you got the acorns but you couldn’t possibly find a better prop. Great job (as always) Justin. You have yourself a tantalizing Tuesday! 🙂

    • LOL! Me too Grace! I was looking through the current stamps I had for a greeting and I saw the woodgrain pattern in the set and remembered how much I liked it! I love that Hardwood Stamp, and the parkay pattern in the Truly Grateful set! Woodgrain looks great with so much, especially flowers! The acorns were off of one of the wreath picks that I got from Michaels, I’m on the lookout for some real ones! Thank you again and I hope that your Tuesday was equally tantalizing! 🙂

  5. A simple card but yet you’ve used so many great products to create it. Wonderful card Justin! I too love your props today especially the acorns. We are simply having spectacular weather today in Ohio to kick off fall. Mid 70’s and sunny without a cloud in the sky! Will send it your way.
