Paper Players #119

Posted on

Ugh! Monday already! And we have Sandy the hurricane coming to make it even better. They have shut down almost everything in the city and on Long Island including mass transit. But the place that I work, that is open of course. I’m hoping that the storm isn’t as bad as they think it will be. I’ll let you know tomorrow, if we have power.

A little reminder that today Stampin’ Up1 is having their SALE! You get 15% off every single stamp set in the Annual and Holiday Catalogs. That includes all Single Stamp Sets, Background Stamps, Single Clear Mount Stamps and Single Wood Mount Stamps. If there were some stamps that have wanted now is the time to get them!

Now for today’s post that is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week the lovely Nance has given us this cool sketch…

I stuck pretty much exactly to the sketch. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I inked up my En Français Background Stamp in Island Indigo and stamped it on Island Indigo Card Stock. The Etruscan Elegance Jumbo Wheel inked in Island Indigo creates the panel across the middle. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch to edge the top and bottom before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. A piece of Basic Black is flagged and then pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I used the Bigz Circles #2 Die to cut out the piece of Linen Fabric that creates the base for my main image. A piece of Basic Black cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit is adhered to the Linen. I stamped the image from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set in Island Indigo and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The greeting is stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I really like the Island Indigo and the Basic Black together and the linen circle give the card a little unexpected extra. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Player Challenge. Thanks so much for checking in with me today and stay safe!

very nice card – i like the color choices. Good luck with Sandy…will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that it isn’t as bad as predicted. I live in NE Ohio and they are predicting some sort of blizzard here for Wednesday – hope that is wrong. 😦

    • Thank Jean. Thank you for thinking of us! We just plugged in the generator for a bit so we have internet for the next hour or so. It’s really windy, fences down, trees. Have a safe night!
