Little White Merry Christmas

Posted on

Happy World Card Making Day!! Do you have anything fun planned for today?! I hope that you will be making at least one card to celebrate!! My Friday was a very good one indeed! I got to do my monthly delivery field trip and the rest of the day was manageable as an added bonus! I came home and worked on my card for today and some projects for Sunday. I’m off to Manhattan for a bit this morning to see my friend Isabella. I haven’t see her since the beginning of the summer, lots of catching up to do!

The card that I made for you today is one that popped into my head while my friend Sandy was here for a little visit last night. It’s a simple pretty traditional Christmas card to make up for my very non-traditional one yesterday! đŸ˜›

The card base is a piece of Mossy Meadow Card Stock. I think that Mossy Meadow has definitely become my favorite Christmas green! Next up is a piece of Cherry Cobbler. I embossed the “Christmas” from the “Vintage” Joy to the World Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The frame is a piece of Crumb Cake and I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to create it. The merry is cut out with the Little Letters Thinlits across the bottom. My scene is created using the White Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set. All of the elements are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, I colored in the stars with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and did a little shading under the polar bear with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I used the Color Lifter to lighten up the shading and adhered the panel to the back of the frame with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. A strip of Crumb Cake under the Christmas completes the card. I love those Little Letters Thinlits, especially the negative of the letters and the White Christmas Set makes it easy and fun to create a little scene! I hope that you like today’s simple Christmas card. I thank you very much for spending a little time with me today! Now go and a make a card and celebrate World Card Making Day!! đŸ™‚

Paper Players 214 & Pals Paper Arts 220

Posted on

I know that I say it every Monday but that weekend just flew by! I had another pretty productive day yesterday. I spent a lot of time in the Stampin’ Galley, pretty much the whole weekend. I was in there yesterday morning and then my friend Sandy came by and we played with embossing paste for a bit. After she left I did some more crafting and then had some dinner. I wanted to get finished a little early so I could have some down time and that’s just what I did! It was a very busy weekend, the Control Freaks Tour on Saturday and the Creation Station Tour on Sunday. Lots of crafting but that is always fun for me. I think I need to switch the Stampin’ Galley with the bedroom, I spend much more time in there!

Today is a double header, I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and my usual Monday standard for this week’s Paper Players CAS Masculine Birthday. First we’ll do the Pals Paper Arts sketch…

PPA 220

We all know how I feel about traditional Christmas cards but every once in a while it’s nice to have a red and green one! The card begins with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock and I covered the whole front with a piece of Mossy Meadow. In the lower right corner I embossed the greeting from the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The frame is a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock that I cut the center out of with my Stampin’ Trimmer. I adhered the frame to the card with lots ‘o Stampin’ Dimensionals. The large star is also form the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Stars Framelits. My little stars are from the Pictogram Pinches Stamp Set and again are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. A very traditional red, green and gold Christmas card for all of you purists out there! I will admit that it does have a familiar holiday feel to it!

PPA 220-WM

The second card for today is for this week’s Paper Players CAS Masculine Birthday from Jaydee….

Paper Players #214

I was poking around on YouTube the other day when I came across THIS video from Jennifer MacGuire. She showed you how to create a celestial background using ink. I absolutely loved the look so I had to give it a try! I used some Very Vanilla Card Stock for my base and a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock to cover the front. My background is a piece of Watercolor Paper. I used Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy Ink with a Ranger Mini Round Ink Blending Tool. I’m sure that you could use a Sponge Dauber but I like the ink blending tool, I feel it gives you a little better control. After I was happy with the ink coverage I took a paintbrush and flicked some water onto it. That’s what creates the dots with the halo like look. The other dots are a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls also flicked from a paintbrush. A piece of Vellum Card Stock is cut out with the Starburst Framelits to serve as a background for my… yes… feathers! LOL! I heat embossed the feathers in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy and cut them out with the Feathers Framelits. They are adhered to the starburst with SNAIL. The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and again is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the banner from the Snowflake Card Thinlits. I adhered that to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m so happy with the way the background turned out! It really does look like a celestial night sky.

I really hope that you enjoyed both of my cards for today, one for the Pals Paper Arts challenge and the other for the Paper Players. It’s always fun to try something new, I hope that you’ll give the celestial background a try! Thank you for coming by and visiting with me today. I hope you all have a marvelous Monday! đŸ™‚

Creation Station Tour – Harvest

creation station header

A very good Sunday to you my friends! I had a nice day yesterday, I did some crafting, ran some errands and straightened up the apartment a bit. Love a productive day. I had dinner with Anthony and Bill, they took me to Friday’s for a belated birthday meal. After that I ran up to Hofstra and picked up Andrew and took him home. They had a carnival/music festival and he was there from 10:45 in the morning. He said they have it every year and he felt he needed to go to it and he had fun so all in all a win!. In other news it’s time for another Creation Station Blog Tour! This time around we are doing a Harvest theme focusing on the For All Things Stamp Set and Fall themed projects. If you are following the tour then you have arrived here from the very talented Deborah Smart’s Blog. I have three projects for you today, two cards and a place card holder. Lets get to them shall we?!

Up first is a sort of one layer card. All of the elements on the background are stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. The leaves, acorns and greeting are all from the For All Things Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss. I masked off the area for the greeting with a piece of printer paper that I cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. The acorns and greeting along with the border from the Project Life Point & Click Photopolymer Stamp Set are all heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I mounted the finished panel to a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock and then adhered that to a Very Vanilla card base. I love all of the leaves and the heat embossed acorns and greeting give the card a little extra shine.

Creation Station Tour 10 Leaves Card-WM

My next card is somewhat related to the Dreamcatcher that I did a little while ago. I’m my own worst critic but I love the way this card turned out, exactly as I had pictured it in my little brain! We begin with a piece of Hello Honey Card Stock for the base. My background is a simple piece of Very Vanilla. All of the feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are stamped in Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey and are cut out with the Feathers Framelits.

Creation Station Tour 10 Pic 1-WM

I cut the headband out of a piece of Baked Brown Sugar with the Ovals Collection Framelits. I held the headband in place while I adhered the feathers to the card. Once the feathers were adhered I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the headband. On either side I tucked some strands of Gold Sequin Trim underneath and adhered them in place with Glue Dots. In the middle of the headband is a Gold Basic Metal Button with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar threaded through the holes and on either side are two gold sequins.

Creation Station Tour 10 Pic 2-WM

My greeting is from the For All Things Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Chalk Talk Framelits to cut it out and before I removed it from the cutting plate I used my Baked Brown Sugar Stampin’ Write Markers to trace inside the Framelit.

Creation Station Tour 10 Pic 3-WMCreation Station Tour 10 Pic 5-WMCreation Station Tour 10 Pic 4-WM

I backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss, also cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A really fun and I think quite realistic looking headdress!

Creation Station Tour 10 Headdress Card-WM

My last project is a fun place card holder. I used the Curvy Keepsake Box to cut out some Vellum Card Stock. I adhered the two pieces together with some Fast Fuse Adhesive. The image is from the For All Things Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My name plate is created by cutting out some Blackberry Bliss with the Little Letters Thinlits and adhering them to a piece of Tangelo Twist backed with some Hello Honey. One of the feathers from the Four Feathers Stamp Set is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut out with the Feathers Framelits and tucked in behind the main panel. On the back is a Mini Clothes Pin to hold it to the ornament. I would have liked to have put a tea light inside but I could’t find any on the house! A neat place card holder that lets you change out the names whenever you want!

Creation Station Tour 10 Place Card-WM

So there are my three projects for the Creation Station Blog Tour featuring a Fall theme. I really hope that you enjoyed the projects and are inspired to make some Fall cards and decor. Now continuing on with the tour your next stop is our talented leader Jen Arkfeld. Love all of the cool things that she comes up with! Thank you for coming by to see my projects! I appreciate your visit and hope you have an excellent Sunday! đŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 153 & Pals Paper Arts 219

Posted on

Well, I didn’t realize that Andrew had hijacked my post yesterday! That was a nice surprise! He is also a great friend and wonderful person and I’m very happy that I have him in my life. He is always there for me too, but that’s what friends do right?! I always say that friends are the family that you choose and I think I chose wisely! Speaking of Andrew he was over bright and early yesterday morning. I went with him to take some baskets and other goodies to a fundraiser that he was helping with in Smithtown. We grabbed some breakfast and unloaded the cars. I unfortunately couldn’t stay as I had some things to take care of yesterday but he called on his way home and said that they raised $2,700 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Every little bit helps with the important work that they do. The rest of my day consisted of finishing up the stuff that I had to do and then I spent a little time in the Stampin’ Galley and created the two cards that I have for you today!

My first card os for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches #153

Super simple and I decided to go with the star image! My card begins with a base of Soft Sky Card Stock. The background is a piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp inked in Crumb Cake. I adhered a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1″ Sheer Linen Ribbon around the back with Sticky Strip that I received as part of a ribbon share as a surprise birthday gift from the One Stamp at a Time Facebook group! How nice was that! Thank you! I used a combination of Fast Fuse and SNAIL to adhere the background to the base. The star image is from the Bright and Beautiful Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Soft Sky. I used the Star Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the word joy out of a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Snowflake Card Thinlits for my greeting. Teeny tiny pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place. Finally I cut out two sequins from some more Gold Foil Sheet and adhered them on top of the ribbon. I really like the color combination and that new ribbon is really nice!

FMS 153-WM

My second card for today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 219

I immediately thought of a fall themed card and then I thought no, this is perfect for a nontraditional holiday card! This card starts off with a base of Always Artichoke Card Stock and a piece of Cajun Craze is used for the background. I cut out a piece of Crushed Curry with the Labels Collection Framelits and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My snowflake is from the Snowflake Card Thinlits and is cut out from a piece of Brushed Silver and adhered just in the middle with Multi-Purpose Glue. I stamped the tree from the Festival of Trees Stamp Set in Always Artichoke and then heat embossed the garland on the tree with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the greeting I choose one from the Christmas Bliss Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped it in Always Artichoke. A few of the Frosted Sequins scattered around complete the card. I know not everyone is a fan of non-tradiotnal holiday colors but I love to use them, they make for some interesting and fun Holiday cards!

PPA 219-WM

So there you have your Sunday double header! I hope that you enjoyed both my card for the Freshly Made Sketches and the Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I love sharing my days with all of you and love it when you share back! Thank you for spending a little time with me today and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Sunday! I’m off to Manhattan for a little while this morning to see my friend Kim! đŸ™‚

SUO Challenges 105

I made the best of my Monday, like I said no point in dwelling on the negative! Work just keeps getting crazier but it is what is. I just keep telling myself that it all gets better once it going home time! I made my escape and went to my parents for dinner. My little man Daniel was there cute as ever. His mom was feeding him and makes the cutest faces when he gets something that he doesn’t really like! But he still eats it and makes the face ever time! LOL! After dinner I went over to Sandy’s house for card class. It’s always a laugh and I’m usually the jokester! When I got home Taylor had stopped by and gave me some more props for my pictures, Christmas stuff which I needed. I made some coffee and sat down at the computer to catch up on comments and emails. Then I get caught up looking at stuff on-line and before I know it it’s midnight!

The post that I have for you today is for the SUO Challenges blog. The rest of the Design Team and I have created projects for this challenge which is Embellishments! What do you think that I used?! My card begins with a base of Blackberry Bliss Card Stock and my background is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, although in the pictures it looks a bit Coastal, that I adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I used the Striped Scalloped Thinlit to cut out some Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the lower half of the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. A piece of Gold Baker’s Twine helps break up the transition to the plain card stock. My tree is from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow on Pistachio Pudding. I heat embossed the ornaments in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched the tree out with the Tree Punch. To back it I cut out a piece of Blackberry Bliss with the Chalk Talk Framelits and stamped a stamp from the “Vintage” Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set in Encore Gold Metallic Ink. The tree and the tag are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Good Greetings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow up in top left corner. Three 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins are randomly adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue on the top right. Yes, I did use some sequins, shocking huh?! LOL! There is my Design Team card for the SUO Challenges Embellishments challenge. Take a minute and go over to the blog to see what the reset of the Designers have done and enter you card in the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed my card and that you shave a Terrific Tuesday! Thank you for your visit! đŸ™‚

Creation Station Tour – Tags and Letters

creation station header

Hello everyone! The Unite and Excite event was lots of fun! I got to see some of my friends and make new ones, too! We went to Bertucci’s for lunch afterwards and had a great time. When I got home, Andrew came by and we ran to the Apple Store to get his phone fixed. Spent some time at the house and then had Panera for dinner. Aside from the muggy and rainy weather, I’d say yesterday was a pretty good day! Here is a picture of me and Donna from the event!

Donna and Justin 9-2014

Today it’s time for the Creation Station Blog Tour! I’m hoping that you have been along for our previous ones! If this is your first time here, welcome and I hope that you find inspiration in the projects. This time around we are featuring the alphabet stamps and tags. If you are following the tour you have arrived here from Deborah Smart’s blog, clever projects, don’t you think?! I have three cards for you today. Without further ado…

My first card is a very simple and quite masculine card. It begins with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and my background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the “tag” stamp from the Bits and Pieces Stamp Set fit perfectly inside the Note Tag Punch. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla. I sponged some Crumb Cake on the edges and punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch. A piece of Basic Black Baker’s Twine goes through the hole and some Crystal Effects hold it exactly where I want it. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Some more sponging and a Silver Basic Metal Button is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the tag and the greeting to the card. A very monochromatic and masculine card.

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 1-WM

For my second card I did a holiday card. The card begins with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background I stamped the snowflakes from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Mossy Meadow Card Stock. My tags are punched out with the Note Tag Punch from Kraft Card Stock. I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the word “JOY” from the tags and backed them with Cherry Cobbler with Stampin’ Dimensionals in between.

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Pic 1-WMCreation Station Blog Tour 9 - Pic 2-WM

Some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine is thread through the tops of the tags and they are adhered to the card with SNAIL. A thin strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper goes across the bottom and finishes off the card with a little sparkle. I know it’s unlike me to make a holiday card using traditional holiday colors, but I figured once in a while, I must conform to the norm. LOL!

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 2-WM

My last card is a card I have been wanting to make for a while. It starts off with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out two rows of letters, A-F and G-L, from a piece of Basic Black and backed the “H” and “I” with Real Red Card Stock. That panel is mounted to another panel of Basic Black using Stampin’ Dimensionals and is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. Two 1/8″ strips of Real Red go across the top and bottom and are adhered with 2-Way Glue. I like the color combination and I think the pop of red makes the “HI” really stand in the spotlight among the other letters. LOL!

Creation Station Blog Tour 9 - Card 3-WM

It makes me feel very creative when I use the same theme for three projects, and they all come out looking so different! I had fun making my cards for the Creation Station Blog Tour this time around and I hope that you enjoyed them. I’m the last stop on the tour, but if you began here, head over to Jen Arkfeld’s blog to start from the beginning! I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for coming by and have a super Sunday! đŸ™‚

A very happy Thursday to all of my faithful blog readers! We are almost at the end of another week! I made yesterday a better day all around and it was made even better when I got home, I’ll get to that in a minute! I got what I wanted to get accomplished at work and smiled my way through the day. I took my own advice, it helped that I got to run a little errand and enjoy the convertible too! When I got home last night I sat down to go through Pinterest and guess what?! Stampin’ Up! repined my Mojo Monday card from last week! That put a smile on my face. You can see the Pin HERE and the post HERE. I also got my Control Freaks swaps back and that means that I get to share my card for that with you today! I absolutely love the cards today! I don’t usually say that but I think they are both neat! Another thing that should put a smile on all of your faces is that the 2014 Holiday Catalog is live today! Gather up your wish lists and go forth and order! One more thing, if you subscribe to a monthly Paper Pumpkin subscription by September 10th you will get 50% off your first two months! The kits keep getting better and better, don’t miss out on this special offer to give them a try!

Let’s start today’s post off with my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo360

Tall and Skinny, we know how I love those! I wanted a clean but fun card so this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of Smoky Slate on the left and Lost Lagoon on the right. The panel in the middle begins with a piece of Soft Sky that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. On top of that is a piece of Whisper White with some All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out the center and adhered it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The “snow” and the snowflake are cut out in Silver Foil Sheet and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Snowflake Card Thinlits. I mounted the silver “snow” to the woodgrain with itty bitty pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals and then used some Multi-Purpose Glue to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds on top but slightly lower. A strip of Silver Foil Sheet with a thin strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper goes across the lower portion and the snowflakes are adhered on top of one another to that. A few of the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins are randomly adhered to the woodgrain and three of the silver ones in the lower right corner. I really love all of the sparkle with the blues and how the center panel just comes alive! The card has a lot of detail but I think was well worth it! I hope that you agree and that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge!

Now on to my card for the Control Freaks 2014 Holiday Catalog swap. I was siting in the Stampin’ Galley trying to think what I was going to make for my swap card. I was doing my usual taking out and putting back of goodies when I came across the Mustache Framelit. As I looked at it I started to see a mask. I then tried a few different ways to cut out the eye holes and settled on the tiny oval that comes with the Chalk Talk Framelits. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Tangelo Twist. I used the Confetti Stars Border Punch along the top edge before adhering it to the base. The mask is the Mustache Framelit. I stamped one of the feathers from the Four Feathers Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Vellum Card Stock and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Feathers Framelits are used to cut it and a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper out and a Glue Dot holds them to the back of the mask. I adhered the mask with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting is from the Holiday Invitation Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I love the colors and the “mask” is just really neat! I think it would make a pretty cool Halloween party invite!

I really hope that you enjoyed my swap card, I think it’s a fun card and I love that the mustache makes such a neat little mask! There is your double dose of cards for today! Thank you so much for coming by to see them! Have a thoroughly terrific Thursday! đŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 107 & The Puppies

Posted on

Mid week, yes, it’s nice to be here again. My day was all sorts of fun! LOL! Not really but what can ya do?! I found that rolling with it is a much better way to go than, well, all of the other ways one could go. I try to apply that to everything in my life, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. Life is all about experiences and learning and growing from them. I am successful most of the time but there is always one that I get caught up on. I’m getting better, but there is still work that needs to be done. Sorry about that, just a little stream of consciousness that slipped out! On a happier and lighter note here is that picture of Kim with all of the puppies!

Kim & The Wuppies

Aren’t they just adorable! Yes, Kim too! LOL! Daisy is the mom and then the dad is there and the two sons. One big happy family! They do so love Kim, their favorite thing to do is sit on her!

Hmm… let’s see… Wednesday… ahh yes, it Paper Craft Crew sketch time! Here is this week’s inspiration for you…

PCCCS107 8-27-2014

I didn’t follow it exactly but I did stay pretty true to it. For my base I used a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is two different pieces of paper from the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit to cut out some Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the background with some Multi-Purpose Glue. A strip of Calypso Coral with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker’s Twine covers up the seam and top of the scallop. My greeting is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Garden Green and Calypso Coral. I used the Chalk Talk Framelits and the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to cut them out. A piece of Pistachio Pudding cut out with the Oval Collection Framelits goes behind it and all of the layers are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way the scallop pattern in the DSP mimics the Striped Scallop and is seen again in the DSP on the top half. I hope that you enjoyed my eclectic Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Make sure that you stop by the BLOG to see more inspiration and enter your card in the gallery so I can see your take! Thank you for coming by to see what’s going on in my little corner of the world, I love having you spend some time with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps! đŸ™‚

Wonderful Wisteria Lagoon Wreath and Manhattan!

Posted on

Well the rain held out all day yesterday and I had a lovely day in Manhattan! I got in around 8:10am and parked on 90th. For my walk over to the West Side through Central Park I popped in my headphones, it makes me walk faster which if you know anyone that has walked with me in the city is way too fast! LOL! I stopped along the Reservoir and snapped a few pictures. You can see how overcast it was but the sun did peek out a few times. You also don’t realize how big the Reservoir is until you walk around it! It looks more like a lake!

CP Resivoir 1

CP Resivoir 2

Pretty huge huh?! Much to Kim’s dismay I got to her around 8:45 instead of my estimated 10:00! LOL! I’m early for everything and she knows this but still doesn’t appreciate it! We had some coffee and then I realized that I forgot my wallet in my car. I have an aversion to wallets for some unknown reason and I tend to leave it in my backpack or car. I used to leave it at home but Andrew fixed that for me! Kim suggested that we walk back over and have breakfast at the diner that way I could get my wallet, sounded great to me so we did just that! After breakfast we wandered around and passed by this new cupcake shop called Sprinkles. From across the street we noticed that they had a Cupcake ATM!! WHAT!! Needless to say we ran over to it and I had to give it a try! You can see from the pictures my silly excitement at the prospect of a little door opening and revealing a delicious treat!!

It was Red Velvet and it was DELICIOUS! I split it with Kim and she agreed that it was quite tasty! We will be visiting the Cupcake ATM again don’t worry about that! LOL!

Now on to the crafty part of the post. I was running through card ideas in my head on the way home and I thought that Wisteria Wonder and Lost Lagoon might look nice together so I gave it a try! My card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I heat embossed the sentiment from the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set* with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My smoky Slate piece is cut on the bottom with the Ovals Collection Framelits for an interesting curve. The wreath is also from the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set* and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and Lost Lagoon. I heat embossed the bow with more Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits* to cut them out. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them to the card and a few of the Frosted Sequins* are adhered around the wreath with Multi-Purpose Glue. I actually really love the colors together and as many of you know I’m not a red and green holiday type of guy! I also like using the Oval to cut away part of the panel, odd but sort of cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today along with my silly pictures from Manhattan! Thank you for checking in to see what I’ve been up to and have yourselves a super Sunday! đŸ™‚

Pals Paper Arts 216

Posted on

That was a nice Friday. Work was manageable and after I came home and crafted for a bit and then watched a little TV. I needed to unwind a bit. The week was a busy one but always worth it. This morning I’m off to see my friend Kim in Manhattan, hopefully the weather with hold out. It was supposed to rain here yesterday but it was just really cloudy. They say that it should clear up around mid-day if it does rain so that’s not too bad. Kim is puppy sitting at a friends on the west side so I’m hoping that I will be able to walk across Central Park. The last time I did that was with Andrew and it was dark and a little on the creepy side! What kinds of things do you all have going on this weekend?!

I decided that today would be Pals Paper Arts day. This week they have cooked up a fun sketch…

PPA 216

Pretty simple but I had some fun with it! The card base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I covered the entire card front with. The two panels are Whisper White on top and a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack on the bottom. I ran a piece of Hello Honey through the Big Shot with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit and used my Paper Snips to trim away some of it to make the strip. The flower is from the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set and is stamped in Blushing Bride on Blushing Bride, I stamped it one last time in Hello Honey on Hello Honey for the center that I cut out with my Paper Snips. I punched both of the flowers out with the Fun Flower Punch and stacked them on top of one another with Stampin’ Dimensionals.Behind the flower is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Flower Frenzy Bigz L Die. Finally, my greeting is from the Honeycomb Hello Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Whisper White that was left over from a previous Hexagon Hive. I love that just making the center of the flower a different color makes it look much more realistic and the way that Kraft somewhat grounds everything. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I love having you stop by and I hope that you have a Sumptuous Saturday! (Thanks Grace, LOL!) đŸ™‚
