Woo hoo! It’s Friday peeps and I had a great day yesterday! Work was not too bad again, and I got a lot done! After work Andrew and I headed to the Apple Store in Manhasset because it said online that still had some iPhones in stock. We got there around 6:20 and by 7:00 I had a brand new iPhone 6 Space Gray in my hands! Woo hoo! I was looking at the 6 Plus but it’s just way too big. I would like to put it in my pocket and the Plus just won’t fit! LOL! After Apple we went to Friday’s for dinner, I know, I was just there but it’s close and the food is pretty good! I spent the rest of the evening playing with my new toy! I’m really loving it! A nice upgrade and I can’t wait until they enable the Apple Pay System next month!

As chance would have it it’s also a Fab Friday and this week we have a neat little sketch for you…

I actually made this card two weeks ago by accident. I did the wrong week for the challenge! LOL! Like I said, such a dunce sometimes! Anyway, my card today starts with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock and I adhered a piece of Kraft Card Stock to the entire card front. The circle is another piece of Very Vanilla that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I sponged on some Crumb Cake Ink to bring out the grain and then adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower is from the Bloom with Hope Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock and cut it out with my Paper Snips. I used my Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color in the back side and then adhered it to the circle with Multi-Purpose Glue. The bird is from the Choose Happiness Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips too. I stamped my greeting from the And Many More Stamp Set in Soft Suede on an Essentials Wooden Element. The heart is also one and is colored in with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. Under the circle is a piece of 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon. On top of that I stamped one of the feathers from the Four Feathers Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon on a piece of Pool Party and cut it out with the Feathers Framelits. Finally a piece of Gold Sequin Trim is tucked under the circle and completes the card. I love the eclectic mix of colors and elements and I’m also really liking the vellum flower colored in on the back with the Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. So there is my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. A very happy Friday to you all! And a happy birthday to me! LOL! When I arrived home from work yesterday, there was a very nice little surprise waiting for me. I got some happy mail, all the way from my friend Carolyn in Australia! She sent me a lovely birthday card and some very delicious Tim-Tams.

Isn’t that a cool card?! She really does make the neatest easel cards. And how appropriate is that mustache? LOL! I was also lucky enough to get my hands on the new iOS 8 software for the iPhone and iPad. I did mine in the morning and Andrew stopped by last night and did his. There are a few new features that are quite neat, like the ability to respond to a text message without leaving the app that you’re in. Siri is also vastly improved and if you have a 5S and your phone is plugged in, you can just say, “Hey Siri”, and she’s ready to go. Pretty cool stuff! My brother just happened to be on his way back from Chicago yesterday and took this very cool picture of the 9/11 Memorial as he was coming into New York and I just had to share it with you.

You can really see the lights from the memorial and I think the wing in the picture is pretty neat. Pretty strange to think that it’s been 13 years since that tragic day. And I can still tell you exactly what I was doing that entire day. Some things you just never forget.

Now on to happier things, like my card for the Fab Friday challenge. This time around it’s a color challenge…

Funnily enough, I actually did the card for the next Fab Friday challenge and had to quickly make this one last night. Sometimes my lack of sleep works against me. LOL! I have really been enjoying the Kraft Card Stock, so yes, you will be seeing a lot of that for the next few cards, and the heat embossing continues. The base for my card today is Whisper White Card Stock and I adhered a piece of Kraft to cover the entire front. On top of that is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum leaving a little bit of the Kraft peeking out the left side. All of the stamps that I used on this card are from the Garden Party Stamp Set. My tag is a piece is a piece of Pool Party and I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. The greeting is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder along with the small flowers and they are cut out with my Paper Snips. The larger flowers are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and again, cut out with Paper Snips. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the tag and a piece of Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon is threaded through the top of the tag and a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine is tied around it. To finish off the card, I put two strips of the Beach House Washi Tape on a diagonal in the upper right hand corner. Again, loving the Kraft Card Stock and I like the way the gold looks with the Pool Party and Calypso Coral. And there you have the correct card for the Fab Friday color challenge this time around. Fab Friday 49

Hi everyone! It’s Friday!! You know how I feel about my Friday! I get to run some errands at work today too! It’s going to be a great Friday! Yesterday was as good as I made it! LOL! I came home and saw little Daniel for a bit. He just wants to go go go! I think that he will be walking in no time. He is so cute I can’t stand it! Last night was very good, it was Hunger Games – Catching Fire movie night with Andrew. I knew that he wouldn’t like the ending, it kind of leaves you hanging and he likes to have closure. But he had to see the movie and he did really like it! I told him only a few months until part one of the third book comes out. I will have to make sure that if we watch a series they are all available on iTunes from now on! I said it’s something to look forward to and now I’m guaranteed that we will see that one in the theater! 🙂

Good news! It’s a Fab Friday challenge day too! This time around we have a sketch for you…

Fun and simple, I stayed really true to the sketch too! My card base for today’s card is Sahara Sand Card Stock and across the bottom is a strip of Crushed Curry that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two flagged strips are Basic Black and Tangerine Tango. I wrapped a piece of Basic Black Baker’s Twine around the card and tied it in a bow on the left side. The main panel is a piece of the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Basic Gray. My three happy little pumpkins are from the Fall Fest Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango and Memento Tuxedo Black. The Fun Fall Framelits cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. After I put the card together I realized that I forgot a greeting! Thankfully the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set made it easy for me to stamp the greeting on the panel even though it was already adhered to the card! A fun fall card and the pumpkins are just the cutest aren’t they?! There is my Design Team card for this week’s Fab Friday sketch challenge and I hope that you enjoyed it! Fab Friday 48

T G I F!! T G I F!! T G I F!! Can you tell that I’m excited that it’s Friday?!?! I’m not going to lie, I’m over work this week, too many things that shouldn’t be given to me to do are given to me. I have a few errands to run today, like the Apple Store so that will make the day much better! It was a gorgeous day here yesterday in the high 70’s and a slight breeze with plenty of sun! It sure doesn’t feel like August and I hope that this doesn’t mean that there will be another bad winter! But I’m really enjoying it at the moment! Tonight I have some crafty things to do and at some point over the weekend I would like to get the Stampin’ Galley a little more organized! We’ll see how that goes! LOL! What do they say about the best laid plans?! What’s on for the weekend for you people?!

Today is a very special Friday not just because it a Fab Friday but it’s a special Fab Friday! Mindy had her little baby boy Ian!! We decided to surprise her with a little change of plans! We all made baby card this time! Congratulations Mindy and Jon!! He’s adorable!!

I went with a nice simple card that would be easy to duplicate, I actually know quite a few people that have had babies lately. Little Daniel turned nine months old yesterday and is crawling and sitting up already! They do grow up so fast! My card begins with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. The background is a piece of Lullaby Designer Series Paper, I punched the left side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. My large flag is a piece of Hello Honey and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the circle in the middle. Across the top is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I trimmed with the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade and adhered it to the flag with Multi-Purpose Glue. Before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I stamped my sentiment from the Dear Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. The sweet onesie is from the Something for Baby Stamp Set and is stamped in Pistachio Pudding and cut out with the Baby’s First Framelits. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place too. Like I said simple but I love the layout and the colors! I really hope that Mindy and you both enjoyed the card and that Mindy was surprised! Oh yes! It’s Friday! You know how I feel about that! LOL! It was another nice day, sunny and cool, only in the low 80’s. As far as work goes I spoke too soon, it was a little nutty yesterday. I got to do things that aren’t really my responsibility again. I help out whenever I can and that gets me where?! What can you do?! Last night Andrew came by and we did some more apartment stuff and then took a run to IKEA. I have to say that I’m little disappointed in the lighting choices of late. I’m all for the environment but the LED lights are not quite as bright as the old bulbs and they are quite pricey. I ended up not getting anything but Andrew did have some hot dogs for dinner. Two hot dogs, a soda and chips for $2.50! You can’t beat that! The rest of the evening was just spent sitting outside and talking. Sometimes the simple things make life wonderful!

And this Friday is made even better because it’s a Fab Friday! This week we have a really neat, simple sketch…

I have to admit I had a lot of fun making this card. The card begins with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock. For the background I took a piece of Night of Navy Card Stock and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a circle in the lower right portion of the card. I then used the Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask and some Embossing Paste to create the stars on the background. After it dried, I adhered it to the base. The clouds are made using the Word Bubbles Framelits and some Whisper White and are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My large star is a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper cut out with the Stars Framelits. For the greeting I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to create my own greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black. I flagged the ends and adhered it and the star with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think it’s neat the way that the cut out circle appears as if it’s in front of the background. And to me, it looks like the moon! That’s my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge! Fab Friday 46

Happy Friday!! First day of Convention is done! I had an excellent day! I got to meet so many people and see lots of friends! I think that is definitely the best pat of convention! The opening session was great, Shelli was fantastic as always. Pam Morgan walked us through the new Holiday Catalog, we got out copy and you are going to love it! There are new feathers and framelits, more sequins and even some enamel dots!! LOL! I had a wonderful dinner with my friend Maggie at the Cheesecake Factory. After we had a great conversation with Robynn from the events department, such a fun lady! Here are some pictures for you…

How can Friday get any better?! Not only am I at Convention but it’s also time for the Fab Friday challenge. This time around, we have a color challenge for you…

The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock and the background is a piece of Whisper White that I offset in the lower left hand corner of the card. I rounded the top right corner with the Project Life Corner Rounder. A piece of Retro Fresh Washi Tape goes across the lower part of the card. My greeting is from the Hi There Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush. My three feathers are from one of my favorite stamp sets, the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set. I heat embossed each one with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A nice, simple, bright and cheery card using my favorite… feathers! Fab Friday 45 and a Word from Andrew

I have to say that today was a very good day at work for me. I ended up having to do my monthly delivery today so I was gone for 2 hours. Came back, did a little work, and then was released at 3 PM. Sounds like parole… because it is. LOL! After work, Andrew came by to help me move some stuff (yes, still!). When we reached the old apartment, it was approximately 115º, a definite thing that I will not be missing about living on the second floor. We got a lot more stuff moved, had some dinner and organized some more. And now Andrew would like to have a word with you…

Hey folks! I [obviously] read Justin’s blog every day and I’m flattered to be mentioned quite often. I’m even more flattered though that you all take an interest in my life and well-being. It brought a big smile to my face to see all your birthday wishes yesterday, so thank you all so much! And don’t worry, Justin will be taking me to dinner very soon! LOL! Also, when I got to his house this afternoon, he had a birthday card for me! Surprise! Here it is in all it’s glory…

I was quite impressed with the card as I always am with Justin’s work, but I really like the 3D look of the skyline and my Clark Kent-looking hair. LOL! The card is currently hanging in my living room with the rest of my birthday cards, but we all know which ones shines the brightest, don’t we?!

So thank you all once again, I really appreciate it. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Today’s a good Friday because it’s the other Friday and I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I just so happened to get a new box of goodies yesterday and used three of them on today’s card. My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and my background is a piece of Flashback Designer Series Paper. I embossed a strip of Crushed Curry with the Zig Zag Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On top of that is a piece of Real Red that I punched out using the Angled Tag Topper Punch to make the tag. I thought it needed a little something more so I used the Eclectic Paper Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. The greeting/image is from the Well Worded Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla and cut out with the Mustache Framelits Die. A simple, fun, retro card that’s great for when you don’t have a lot of time (moving/sorting… will it ever end?!). Fab Friday 44

Hello peeps and welcome to an extremely happy Friday! The reason for that is I am off from work today! It was rainy here yesterday but cleared up in the afternoon, just in time for painting fun! Danielle and I went to Lowe’s and picked up the paint, met up with Andrew and had some dinner at Hurricane Grill and Wings. We started painting around 9 and finished at about 11:30. We managed to get the living room done. It was quite enjoyable because we had some laughs. The paint spilling on the drop cloths resulted in the soles of Andrew’s shoes being covered in paint. So we came up with an interesting way to get him out of the house without dragging paint everywhere. See below…

If you look in the background, you can see the color of the paint that I chose. Although I hope Andrew and I were more interesting than the paint color. LOL!

This Friday is made even better because it’s a Fab Friday! This time, we have a color challenge for you…

Yes, those are all the new In-Colors! I used one of my favorite stamp sets, the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the foundation for my images is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and rounded the corners using the Project Life Corner Rounder. All of the images are from the Choose Happiness Stamp Set, the woodgrain flag is stamped in Hello Honey, the bird in Lost Lagoon, the flowers in Tangelo Twist and the greeting in Blackberry Bliss. I used the Banners Framelits to cut out the woodgrain flag and the greeting is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. A few strategically placed pearls along with some random ones finish off the card. I hope you enjoyed my video and card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Fab Friday 43

Finally, it’s Friday! Woo-hoo! I had a nice day at work yesterday. My friend and co-worker Danielle and I went out for lunch for the first time ever! We had pizza and a nice chat. It rained here in the morning but cleared up around noon and it’s supposed to be beautiful through the weekend! I came home after work and busted open my rather large box from Stampin’ Up! containing some serious new Catalog goodies! I had a nice fun few crafty hours and then I remembered that it was time to select the blog candy winner! Conveniently Andrew was here so we wrote all 66 names down on pieces of paper and put them into a bowl. He insisted on doing the selection the old fashioned way! I mixed them up really good and he selected one. Drumroll please… and the winner is Karen!! Not only is today a good Friday because it was blog candy day, but it’s also a Fab Friday week! This week we have a fun sketch for you…

I did manage to mount some of the stamps and unwrap some of the accessories so that’s what I used on my card. The base of the card is Bermuda Bay Card Stock and my background is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar that I embossed with the Tiny Triangles Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The strip across the middle is Crisp Cantaloupe and both the background and the strip are adhered with Fast Fuse Adhesive. The “HEY” is cut out using the new Little Letters Thinlits from Bermuda Bay and each letter is propped onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Under that, I stamped the other part of my greeting from the And Many More Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay. The three arrows on the right hand side are punched out from Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush with the new What’s Up Punch. To finish off the card, I used a strip of Washi Tape from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack and placed it above my greeting. I love all the geometric shapes on the card and yes, I had a ton of fun with some of my new goodies! I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge.
