SUO Challenges 78

Posted on

Hey there! How is everything going? I’m much better than I was yesterday. My headache finally went away around 11:00am. I don’t think I have had one like that in a long time and hopefully not again anytime soon! It was nice here again today with a little more cloud cover and they are saying rain for tonight into tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will be nice for the three day weekend coming up! I do love a three day weekend! 🙂

Today I have my card for SUO Challenges. This time we have a ribbon and bows challenge for you. I decided to use some of the 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, I have had it for a while and thought it was about time to break it out. The base of the card is Soft Suede Card Stock. The background is just a plain piece of Sahara Sand and I adhered the 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon around the back with Sticky Strip. I also used another piece behind the sentiment to hold it flat. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The image is the new Wonderful Blessing Single Stamp and it’s stamped in Midnight Muse and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. I brayered one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies in Midnight muse and backed it with a piece of Midnight Muse that I also cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits to make it a little more sturdy. The whole thing is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the nice big size of the Wonderful Blessing Stamp and these would be great to make a bunch of for Christmas! Thanks so much for coming by to see my card for the SUO Challenges Ribbon and Bows. Head on over to the blog and check out what me teammates have for inspiration and add one of yours to the gallery. Have a fun Tuesday! 🙂

  1. The brayered doily is pretty amazing. I’ve not seen that before. I’ve been adament about not ordering the doilies, but my mind is being challenged here. Also reconsidering the Wonderful Blessing stamp. Thanks for enabling, Justin. You do it well.

  5. I love your card. The brayered doily is exceptional. And, how appropriate is that burlap. It reminds me of the straw in the Manger. Love the stamp. It is on my ‘wish list’. Beautifully done! Thank you for sharing!

    • Thank you very much Lynn! I thought it needed an earthy feel with the stamp. The doily was fun and I’ll definitely do it again. Glad you enjoyed the card. 🙂

  6. This is a nice card, to make a bunch of! Really liking the Big Focal Point, and the Doily just brings it all together. Burlap!! Only you could figure that one out to use! Quite clever you are!

    • Thanks so much Vicki! The stamp size is great and the doily needed to be Midnight Muse too! I was stumped by the ribbon but I’m glad it worked out! 🙂

Liking the softness of the neutral colors behind the dark Midnight Muse…very well done!

  8. The burlap touch compliments the setting of the stamp’s scene, and the daintiness ot the doily provides a great contrast to the texture of the ribbon. Wonderful card, Justin!

  10. Lovely card, but I did not recognize the stamp, and had to come and check out your info. Pulled out a catalog, and went searching for this stamp. I love it! Love your choice of elements, too.
