So how was your Saturday? It was a very nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. I went to see Pitbull and Ke$ha last night at Jones Beach Theater. It is one of my favorite places to see a concert. It’s an outdoor amphitheater right on the water, in fact the stage is in the water! Pitbull was awesome, high energy and a great show. I was surprised that Ke$ha was pretty good too! They had a DJ in between and he was great too! All in all a very nice night!
Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time we have a theme challenge from the superb Jaydee…
Summer! I pondered about what stamps to use for a while and then I remembered a “Vintage” one that is the perfect image of summer. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tangerine Tango and before I adhered it to the card I put a little piece of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape in the upper right. The image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp and I stamped it in Pacific Point and backed it with some Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set that will be “Vintage” as of Monday. I used another soon to be “Vintage” product, a Brights Collection Designer Button with a piece of Tangerine Tango in the middle. It sort of reminded me of the sun so it went with the greeting. I think the sail away image with the sketched sail boat and seagulls is perfect for summer, don’t you? Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Summer Theme challenge from Jaydee. Head on over to the Paper Players blog and check out the other awesome designers cards and enter on of yours in the gallery. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Great sentiment to use with boat. Love the color combo. Simple yet eye-catching use of the new Washi tape – interesting effect of the yellow gingham on Tangerine! Your card makes me want to go to the Point Pleasant beach now, but I’m in Cincinnati, so I would say you created a successful card! Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! So happy you enjoyed the card! Have a great day!
I love the colors in your card and I love that stamp. Thank you for explaining and telling about the theater and the concert. I live in AZ and I had no idea what you were talking about at first. Course, I didn’t even know what you meant by Pitbull and Kei$ha at first…always great to learn new things. Also, I wanted to thank you for your dedication in posting every day. I’m amazed and I appreciate your creations :}
Thank you! Glad you found the post informative! LOL! Pitbull has some fun music, you should give him a listen! I’m so happy you enjoy my posts, thank you for letting me know!
What a great summer-themed card! Your colors are just so bright and cheerful! Glad you had a fun night!
Thanks LeAnne! I hope you are feeling better. I’m in a Manhattan today and it’s baking hot! The concert was great! Enjoy your Sunday!
These awesome colors and fabulous image combine to make a stellar summery card, Justin! I LOVE it!
Thank you very much Ann! I hope you have a lovely week! 🙂
Love the card. Time to go sailing. Goes with the concert theme.
Ummm, where is a picture of the concert on the water – never seen anything like that before.
Thanks Cynthia! I’ll post a picture of the venue tomorrow! 🙂
I see we both have similar ideas of summer images! Great choice of stamp set and your color scheme is so fresh! Thank you for the beautiful birthday card–took me by surprise and I loved it. Thanks for thinking of me! ((hugs))
Yes Nance, we were definitely on the same wavelength! I’m so glad you like the card!! Have a great week! 🙂
Your “vintage” sailboat combined with those bright colors is a perfect summery card! Glad you had fun at Jones Beach, maybe next time you’ll sail there, LOL!
Thanks Sandy! I prefer vintage to retired! LOL! That would be nice to take a boat to a concert at the beach! 🙂
Justin, I love that you went for such a bold, bright color scheme. It’s so Mediterranean in feel and perfect with the sailing boat. Fabulous card.
Jaydee
Thanks Jaydee! I love that sailboat! Have a great weekend! 🙂
