Freshly Made Sketches 101

Posted on

Well, it’s finally here! FRIDAY! I know, I get way too excited about Friday every week but I do love my weekends! I don’t have any big plans but that can change at any time. I’m going to have dinner with my friend Anthony tonight and I’m hoping that we get out of work early today (fingers crossed)! Other than that not much going on and that means that I can get in some quality crafty time! The weather, hmm… it was overcast here but didn’t rain by me but they say it will be raining in the morning for a bit and then clear up. I know, the weather is thrilling isn’t it?!?! LOL! But the highlight of my evening last night was getting to video chat with my friend Carolyn from Australia! It was so nice to actually get to speak to her and I look forward to doing it again soon!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week’s sketch is from Linda…

Freshly Made Sketches #101

I have been wanting to do another freestyle collage card and this seemed like the perfect layout! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of paper from the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper Stack and some Cork Sheet are flagged and adhered to the card. I stamped the Smoky Slate panel with the Filmstrip Stamp in Smoky Slate and adhered it to base over the two flags with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The circle is cut from Whisper White with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and is adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the ampersand out with the Typeset Bigz Dies, the bird is from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set, the flower is from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and is cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies and finally the small flower is punched out with the Boho Blossom Punch and a Basic Jewel Rhinestone is adhered in the middle. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. It’s a lot of products but I really do love the collage look and the blues look so nice together. Thank you, as always, for coming by to see my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Here’s to a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!! 🙂

  2. I really like this mix of colors and images. And the filmstrip adds a nice background without being too bold about it. Happy Friday!

  3. Love the collage look! Harkens back to school days and making them from magazines–but in a fun framelit forward fashion!

  5. Great card. Love those colors together.
Will definitely be copying this one and probably use different elements for the collage (like the small cameras from Around the World stamp set).

  6. Love this, Justin! I love the collage look, and I love how crisp all of the elements look on that white circle. I also appreciate how clean the card looks despite using the collage style. You CAN combine the two styles, and you’ve done it perfectly here!

Very nice design, Justin! My husband looked over when I said, “I like this card.” He commented, “Yeah, it’s cute!” When I told him a guy designed it, he said, “He’s really good!” I agree. Thanks for sharing!
